Rapist says sentence unfair

Pov Srun is asking for a reduction in his sentence for abducting and raping two women on two different occasions, calling the sentence 'more about revenge and not about justice', and stating that 'It's pretty obvious the punishment didn't fit the crime'.

A jury convicted Srun last year of forcing his way into the women's vehicles, driving them to remote locations and sexually assaulting them. One woman was abducted from the Kmart parking lot in Waynesboro, Pa., in September 2004, and the other from the parking lot of Weis Market 12 days later, according to the Waynesboro and Chambersburg police departments.

Personally, I'd say that the sentence of sentence of 34 1/2 to 150 years seems pretty damn fitting to me, and does more than just fit the crime- it prevents this monster from continuing the cycle of sexually assaulting women.

With one of the victims observing in the courtroom, the 37-year-old former Hagerstown man told Walker a fair sentence would be 35 years concurrent with the 35-year sentence he received for sexually assaulting two women in Maryland.

Assistant District Attorney Jeremiah Zook said Srun has to serve at least 17 years in Maryland before he is eligible for parole. Srun's Pennsylvania sentence is now structured to begin after his parole from the Maryland sentence.

Srun is claiming the court erred in his trial by allowing the introduction of evidence from his Maryland convictions.

Nothing is more annoying and angering than having a rapist complain about things not being fair- as if they had ever stopped themselves and thought about the fairness of their crime.
