The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil,
but because of those who look on and do nothing.

Robert Chouinard tries to set record...

If Robert Chouinard was attempting to set a new record, he missed his mark. Police say that the internet sting- which can take months to complete- lasted a surprising short time thanks to Chouinard's aggressive and explicit behavior during the sting which lasted less than a week before he was arrested... but was no winner.

CBS 11 News cameras were there as the 45-year-old was walked into Fort Worth Police Department headquarters in handcuffs. Just one hour earlier Chouinard was arrested at an undisclosed location, where he had agreed to meet what he thought was a 13-year-old girl.

That girl turned out to be an undercover Fort Worth police officer. While the sting scenario was familiar police say similar cases usually take months.

"That shows clear intent and those are the people we want to catch," said Lt. Peter Henderson with the Fort Worth Police Department. "Those are the people who need to be off the street."

Police say Chouinard was driving a pick-up truck that was equipped with a laptop and wireless service.

Sadly for him, the record of 'quickest perv capture' to date is 35 minutes... so he missed the award by 6 days, 23 hours and 25 minutes. (Geez I hope my math was right there). But, not to worry as he still gets a prize for his trouble... he's facing a charge of online solicitation of a minor.
