The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil,
but because of those who look on and do nothing.

Horace Mann Williams

Horace Mann Williams likely won't be around for the next millennium, but regardless of that- prosecutors want him sentenced to serve the next 1000+ years in prison. I'm thinking that out of the last on hundred cases I've read- this one might actually be the best one when it comes to finding a punishment that fits the crime.

Horace Mann Williams, 44, is facing a penalty of up to 1,330 years in prison when he is sentenced Friday at the Murrieta Courthouse, said Deputy District Attorney Burke Strunsky.

Williams previously spent six years in prison for sexual molestation in the early 1990s.

He was convicted in February of 11 felony counts of lewd acts upon a child under 14 and one count of digital penetration of a child under 14, along with a sentence-enhancing allegation of multiple victims.

Outside court, jurors said they convicted Williams because he showed a pattern of behavior typical for child molesters.

“After a first offense and after a parole violation, he couldn't stay away from girls,” one juror said.

It's horribly sad that after one offense this monster was given the chance to go out and commit more sexually natured crimes against children. He should have never been free, but at the same time- it's nice to know that a jury was able to process this information and get the point that this man will never stop as long as he is given the chance to be free.

I just wish we could find more juries like this, and then begin using them over the all to happy to hand out a slap on the wrist judges who seem to be trying to secure their jobs by engaging in years of 'catch and release' games with sexual predators.
