The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil,
but because of those who look on and do nothing.

Opps, Wrong Address

It's no surprise that the state of Florida has problems with it's sexual offender registration list. They've continued to have problems with it since it started. (Now in fairness, the website itself is one of the best in the country in my opinion, and I've seen all the state's sites. Florida's is well navigated, detailed and simple to use). But it seems that the problems are getting bigger than just having missing offenders, dead offenders still on the list and lost records. Now, Florida is dealing with misleading registration information which is placing residences on the list which do no have sexual offenders residing in them, and that of course also leads to missing offenders.

The Department of Corrections has begun working to fix a mix-up that put Mandarin man's home address on sex-offender Web sites next to the picture of a convicted man.

The DOC told Channel 4 the convicted offender gave them Claudio DiGregorio's address, claiming that he was going to move in there with his girlfriend when he got out of jail.

"If it could happen to me it could happen to anybody. Anybody out there, a prisoner could just give anybody's address," DiGregorio said.
