Death penalty vs Child Rape

We've talked before about having the death penalty as a possible sentence for rape. So, if you need to refresh yourselves on my position- read here.

If you've been here long enough to have figured out where I stand on the issue, or are already well aware of the Coker case, and other case law on death for rape- then read one.

Jay, over at stop the ACLU is reporting on an important hearing that is quickly approaching, after a recent decision by the supreme court to hear arguments over whether the death penalty in a child rape case should be acceptable or not.

The Supreme Court agreed on Friday to decide whether the Constitution allows the death penalty for the rape of a child.

The justices acted only three days before a scheduled argument in another important death penalty case, on the standard for judging whether chemicals used to administer lethal injections make that method of execution unconstitutionally cruel.
