The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil,
but because of those who look on and do nothing.

Jumping out the windows..

Cicero Offerle was convicted of being a pervert... or to put it in legal terms of molesting a child. The conviction carries an 8 year sentence, but Offerle isn't serving it just yet- but there is reason for that.

It seems that after the guilty verdict was read, and Offerle was lead out of the court room, he opted to take a short cut out of the court house... by going straight out the third floor window.

Source- "Ran right between the pillar and bench here," Jarboe showed Newschannel 15. "He leap off the third floor railIng and landed on the second floor. It was slow motion. I couldn't believe he did it."

Down below Brent Dubach with courthouse security watched.

"I looked up and that way and saw an object falling from the third floor. At the time, I didn't know what it was," explained Dubach. "The object struck the railing on the second floor and at that time I could tell it was a person."

Sadly, he survived and was sent to the hospital for medical care. On the tax payers dollar of course, but I'm sure that residents of Fort Wayne will be happy to know that they won't be spending too much, since the police guards that were standing guard outside his hospital room have been removed.
While a convicted child molester recovers in a local hospital from injuries he suffered after he dived from the third-floor rotunda of the Allen County Courthouse, he will not be under guard.

Allen Superior Court Judge Fran Gull signed an order early Friday morning releasing Cicero Offerle on his own recognizance because he is “currently immobile.” Source

Perhaps they should consider getting a taller court house next time, or at least looking into a harder landing pad.
