The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil,
but because of those who look on and do nothing.

Things I missed

A few interesting things I missed while I was gone- not that I'm completely back yet- but I really felt the need to share them.

Trench has Prosecutor Scumbag Peepants tries to off himself, the tale of prosecutor John Atchison who wanted to sexually abuse a few children in between pretending to "put the bad guys away". I suppose he forgot it was criminal to do so. Asshole.

Twenty-eight-year-old Nailah Franklin has been missing since at least Tuesday. The successful pharmaceutical sales rep had reported threats received from a male, possibly an ex, prior to her disappearance. Read more about Nailah at CrimeBlog.US.

Home Sweet Home explains What is a Safety Plan, and it's a must read.

Being a friend or family member of someone when you have concerns they may be abused can leave you feeling helpless. You cannot make them leave the relationship. But maybe, just maybe in order to make you feel better- maybe you can convince them to read about and complete a safety plan.

Laura James is reporting on the death of Watts.

It is a terrible, a sad day in Michigan today. Coral Eugene Watts is dead at 53 of prostate cancer.

That psychosexual sickness that led him to indiscriminate murder must have festered until it killed him.

And, Trench is sharing a horrible case over at I'd quote, or describe it- but it's too bad.

Michelle McNamara of True Crime Diary is looking closely at what crimes get talked about, and which don't:

I actually experience a split second of surprise when I bump into a friend and they want to discuss Madeleine McCann and not, say, Crystal Arensdorf, who disappeared six years ago from a Dubuque, Iowa bar and whose case, virtually unheard of, is currently an obsession of mine.
