The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil,
but because of those who look on and do nothing.

Hostile Takeover

*Warning Personal Blog, Not Criminal*

I tend to like to dabble in things- to learn about as many subjects as possible. I've always been this way, and for the life of me... I've never figured out how to put very much of my dabbling to work for me. I just really like learning about stuff. But, it's all useless knowledge. Until now.

I was playing with the kids, who all have (thanks to Cartoon Network) imaginary friends. Their friends were doing their thing- working, cleaning the imaginary house, walking the imaginary pets- when I was informed that one friend of my oldest had opened a store. This new development annoyed my youngest, who promptly decided that his friend wanted a job there. Only friend #1 didn't want friend #2 employed there. At a time like this, there is really nothing that friend #2 could do, despite really wanting a job there.

I felt bad for friend #2, and my youngest who was clearly heartbroken. And, trying to be fair I issued a "Corporate Warning" to the oldest kid and friend #1- that if they made people mad, they could later face a hostile takeover.

Seeing how none of my children are business majors, the idea of a hostile takeover was new to them, so I had to explain it (hence, the new way to use my vast supply of useless to me knowledge).

As of today, friend #2, under the care of the youngest kid, has managed to acquire almost all of the business related real estate within the bonds of the imaginary world my kids have designed- pet shops, cafes, malls, hotels, toy stores, and the grocery- via his new favorite weapon- hostile takeover.

I've been formally served with a "don't give him any more ideas" order from the remaining kids, and their imaginary friends. I suppose now I'll have to explain how to stop him, via use of a poison pill.
