but because of those who look on and do nothing.

the jack hunt

UPDATE, Jack is Back.

Having read Stephen of CrimeSceneBlog's posts (first and second) on Jack McClellan both at his site and as, I've come up with a great idea for Seattle residents. Now, bare with me while I refresh you on the Jack situation.

From CrimeBlogs-

Entitled “Seattle - Tacoma - Everett girl love,” the site offers a listing of events in the Seattle-Tacoma, Washington area where Girl Lovers (referred on the site as GLs) may find large groups of little girls (referred on the site as LGs) to view and photograph.

It would seem that the man who authored the site “Seattle Tacome Everett Girl Love” is not afraid to show his face or give his name in public.

He is Jack McClellan, a 45-year-old male and he appeared on Fox News, along with his name and the title “pedophile.”

Now, in Stephen's post, he goes on to tell readers that this is the man to be on the lookout for. And, he's right. People should be watching for this freak. Especially those with children, since he's not at all hesitant to snap a photo of a child and then display it on his pedophile website.

Now, police have said that this his doing this is perfectly legal. Which makes me wonder just why he is permitted to violate the privacy of uncounted number of children, and then add injury to insult when he publishes them to a website that courts the idea of pedophile- making them a walking target to any half baked nut case that visits his site. Personally, I always thought that inciting a person to commit a crime was illegal. But evidently police in Seattle feel differently.

Which brings me to this point: If Jack McClellan is okay with the idea of strangers snapping photos of strangers and placing them online, then we should return the favor. Parents in Seattle should be actively working to get as many photos of this sick creep as possible out in the public eye- so that we all know what he looks like, and what events he has been attending. Therefore, much like "Where's Waldo", I suggest a "Where's Jack?" contest. Seattle parents are encouraged to look for Jack (pictured above) snap photos of him when he is spotted, and then submit them.

This will not only provide better photos of Jack, but it will assist parents in knowing what events Jack has been at in hopes of spotting their child alone long enough to rub legs with her, or speak to her, or flirt with her. Remember, he likes little girls as young as 3.

Now, in all seriousness, residents of the Seattle area need to be very careful over the next few weekends, as Easter hunts in Seattle will be going on, giving Jack a perfect chance to use these family friendly events in order to prey on children. The Seattle Times has run a list of Easter Egg Hunts in the area, and most likely Jack has already seen this list, and copied it down. So, be extra cautious while attending any of these events with your children.

When 25 to 50 isn't enough

How do you know when you need a new judge?

For starters, when he is Judge Howsare from Bedford Pa.

As you may recall, I've written a few times about the judge, and the pervert who recently sat in his courtroom on trial for almost 400 counts of sexual abuse of a child. The perv, Richard Crawford was convicted, the state said he was a sexually violent predator, but the judge wasn't sure so he postponed the sentencing (it's already been almost 3 months since the conviction).

Those not familiar with the case, here's some background reading:
Richard Crawford
Judge Daniel L. Howsare

For those of you aware of it, I'll just take half a second reminding you that 98 of the charges against this slime bag carried mandatory 5 year minimum sentences.

Judge Howsare
Courtroom No. 1
Courthouse Annex
Juliana Street
Bedford PA 15522
Phone: (814) 623-4810
Fax: (814)623-3858
Back to the update, it seems that the judge decided to get off his ass and do his job. However, as with everything else involving this judge and this case, Judge Daniel L. Howsare couldn't manage to do his job fully yet again. Rather than giving the max, and assuring the safety of the public by keeping Crawford behind bars for the rest of his life, Howsare decided to go with a sentence of 25 to 50 years. Now I know, that still sounds like a long time. But, let's say he does 25 years. He wouldn't even be 65 when he gets out. Still young enough to find another victim- and, now this is the really important part so perhaps someone should suggest that Howsare read it--- 25 years is not justice. It is not close. Howsare has not only denied the state the right to see their law carried out as it was intended, with the minimum sentence per offense, but he has denied the victim the full amount of justice she was due, and he has denied Crawford the right to be sentenced in accordance with the ideals behind the sentencing guidelines as set out by the PA legislators.

Although, in all fairness- Crawford and his defense counsel seem to be the only ones who can't really complain about the sentence, since it benefits them. Yet, they are complaining about it. And the verdict. So they are planning to appeal. Because that is what scum does- they use the system to their favor, waste tax players money to try to slime their way out of charges, and then once convicted and (finally in this case) sentenced... they appeal. Assholes.

Centredaily- Defense attorney Tom Crawford, who is not related to the defendant, told Howsare his client didn't have a criminal record and wasn't a flight risk. He also asked the judge to consider impact the sentence would have on the defendant's children, a 16-year-old stepson and 4-year-old son.

Tom Crawford questioned why the victim took so long to report the abuse and faulted her for not being specific about when the abuse took place.

"I understand there was no certain date," Howsare said. "But I think there's sufficient evidence to support what the jury found."

The defense said it would appeal.

"There are significant issues for appeal and I personally feel that he's innocent," Tom Crawford said.

I'm happy for Tom that he thinks his client is innocent. But a jury believed differently, as does the young woman who suffered through years of abuse at his hands as a child.

As for the impact to Crawford's children- well yes there is that to think about. Clearly they were robbed in this sentencing. After all, 25 years isn't enough to ensure the safety of their children from this monster. Surely the judge should have taken that into account. But, he didn't.

Personally, I feel Crawford and Crawford should be kissing this judges ass for being such a shame to the people of Bedford... after all, he single handily knocked off years of a sentence that should have kept Crawford in jail for the rest of his life, and that's after he openly mocked the state, and the court itself by his apparent lack of wanting to sentence Crawford to begin with (not to mention his questionable courtroom rulings).

And to be completely frank- I'd like nothing more than to have Howsare step down (or be removed), the appeal laughed out of court, and Crawford to drop dead of a heart attack 15 minutes before his release (in 25 to 50 years).

Thinking Blogger

Two of my favorite non crime bloggers (although Ala comes close to being a crime blogger given some of her posts)have been kind enough to give me a "Make you think" award for this site.

Kathy of Cathy's Rants and Ramblin's said I make her think too much, and Ala of blonde sagacity said I have the stories you don't want to know, but should.

I'd argue that there are others more deserving of this award, but both of them could our write me, so I'm not even going to debate them.

I will however do my part, and give the award to five fellow bloggers who "make me think". In no particular order:

The Conservative UAW Guy always makes me think, most of the time I end up thinking about how great guns are, and how much the left drives me nuts.

Home Sweet Home all too often makes me think, putting a new prospective on the term "happy couple".

A Rose By Any Other Name makes me think about our men and women serving our country overseas, with her tributes.

MY Vast Right Wing Conspiracy makes me think till my head hurts.

Basil's Blog makes me think that he picks better subtitles for headlines than anyone else.

Now, those bloggers are suppose to pick five of their own to give the award too. But, I won't think any less of them if they don't.

Seattle Pedophile Site

For those of you that caught the story on FoxNews about the "how to" manual for Seattle scum bag pedophiles to catch a little girl, my fellow crime blogger over at Crime Scene Blog is covering the story- and I must say he's doing a damn fine job of it.

Stephen is an incredible writer, and he's done some homework on the now removed website in question, including gathering links to archives of the site. So, it's something that you'll want to click over to and read.

For those of you who haven't heard about it yet, what on earth are you waiting for?

Rape of One Day Old Baby

I'm warning you, don't read this. Don't read about the sentence which was reduced to one year in prison, or the fact that the rapist wants to get custody of the baby if DNA tests prove she's his child. Don't read about the fact that the mother, who was in the room at the hospital when the rape occurred gets visitation with the child now. And don't read about the part where the rapist is currently free, because of time credited.

MySpace, for parents

Even a quick peek over at fellow crime blogger Trench's MyCrimeSpace tends to leave parents feeling a little frightened over the prospects of the potential for danger if their children use the popular social network. And yet, there are thousands of youths that log on every day that will never encounter the type of criminal conduct that is the subject of Trench's site.

As parents, we have to weigh the stakes of MySpace, as well as the rest of the internet. We have to be willing to say that if our children are allowed online, we will diligently monitor their activity- and we have to be willing to follow through with that.

One of the problems parents all to often run into is that our children can be more tech savvy than we are, which makes keeping an eye on them difficult. Give a 16 year old a laptop and an email, and they can set up a MySpace almost with their eyes closed... parents on the other hand might not be as adapt when it comes to navigating the social community- and that is a real problem.

MySpace isn't really all that different from other sites that you may visit. And given the current popularity of it, it's something you might want to consider become familiar with.

This post is meant for those people interested in doing just that.

The first thing you need to do is to set up an account. It's as simple as signing up as a member for your favorite news site. Start at going to the home page (link opens in new window) where you will notice a login box on the right side. Click on the sign-up button. You'll be asked a series of questions, and after you've answered them all, you'll need to check your email for a new message.

Once you have opened and activated your new MySpace account, you're ready to start the fun part.

Near the top of the page, you'll notice a row of buttons, one is the most important, the "Search" button. Once you've clicked it, you'll find a page filled with options on just what way you wish to preform your search.

The most simple is by name. Go ahead and try it out. Type a first and last name. Or, if you know your child's email (and you should) try searching via it. If your child has a popular name, you may find a lot of results, requiring you to browse through them.

The second option, and just as fun is to do a search by school. Personally, I recommend doing that one also- then you can peek in on friends your child may go to school with.

There are a few built in safety measure from MySpace when it comes to searches. Younger kids aren't suppose to show up in the results (although I've found more than a couple in there due to errors in their listed age).

As you scroll through search results, be sure to click a few profiles. You're likely to notice that they are all designed differently, with background colors, music, and images. Some are likely to give you an ache just by the look of them. But you should also notice that they all have the same features, including a box that announces "add me" "contact me" and a few other options. Most also have links to MySpace blogs. And, to online photo albums hosted by MySpace, others might include video.

Take some time to look around the site, and get familiar with the set up. You might even start browsing non teenager MySpaces. You might just be surprised at some of the MySpaces you'll find- which include some of your favorite TV shows, networks, news personalities, and companies. You might even find yourself adding some friends to your list, and asking your kid to help you spice up your page. While you're at it, you might want to add your kid to your friends. Have a discussion with them, and let them know that you are doing the most loving thing possible- learning new ways to help ensure their protection. Have a conversation about what is okay for them to display on their sites, and what isn't. Talk to them about the dangers, and listen to them when they share their experiences on the site with you.

As a basic "what shouldn't be on MySpace" list:

Full names, email address, links to other personal webpages that may provide too much information on the kid, phone numbers, places they work, anything that could alert someone to their normal schedule. In fact, if it's not something that you'd want posted on a banner in the middle of Main Street... it shouldn't be posted on their MySpace. Consider having them mark their profile as private, or require last name or email for friend requests.

The most important thing is to explain to your child that you're not doing this to punish them, or to spy on them. But that you are doing it to monitor those who may contact your child for deviant purposes. Let them know that you will be watching their account, and checking up on their friends list beforehand. If you are willing to open up a conversation about it with your child- and have serious talks with them about the possible dangers, it will make for a better experience for both of you.

What's on AMW

America's Most Wanted has always done an excellent job informing the public about some of our worst wanted criminals. And, I've always liked the show for that- and I've always found myself interested in the cases they carry. This week however, I'll be even more interested... because one of the many cases they are covering has a few connections to my hometown.

A year and a half ago I brought you the case of Alfredo Lopez-Cruz, an illegal alien who was residing in Hamilton Ohio. Police say that he lured a 9 year old neighbor into him home and raped her. The girl was able to escape when this scum bag fell asleep. Lopez-Cruz evaded police, fleeing the area. The home he attacked the girl in was later burned down, by angered people.

This predators story should have ended in Hamilton, but because he was able to escape capture, he actually showed up Lima. As if we need another demented child raping piece of trash in my town. Sadly, he evaded police here too... and is still roaming free. Police believe he is still in Ohio, where he has many contacts.

This week, AMW will be airing this case again, and personally- I'm hoping this is their next captured mark on their wall. To read more on this, visit AMW's write up on it. And be sure to watch this weekend's episode.

Other cases that will be featured on AMW this week:

Boston, Massachusetts…ARNOLD GABIDDON...In Boston, cops say Arnold Gabiddon brutally attacked a woman, stabbing her several times before cutting her throat. She barely survived. He has a scar on his forehead and may still be in Massachusetts.

Southern, California…RICK MCLEAN…Cops say that for years, Frederick "Rick" McLean, used his position in the Jehovah's Witnesses to hide a lengthy history of child molestation. Authorities tell AMW that when one family finally went to the police, McLean made a fast get-away with a small fortune of cash that he secretly had stashed away. Now, McLean's been added to the US Marshal's '15 Most Wanted List' and investigators hope that he'll soon be behind bars.

Silver City, New Mexico
…UNKNOWN TIM EDWARDS KILLER… Just one visit to Montana Del Oso Ranch in New Mexico and Tim Edwards knew he had found a place to retire. Captivated by the scenery and sunsets, Tim and his wife Lynn moved to the ranch from Arizona. But the mountain paradise was hiding a deadly secret that the Edwards would soon discover – leaving Tim dead and cops looking for answers.

For more information on these cases, and others- be sure to tune into Fox's America's Most Wanted this Saturday at 9:00pm or stop by their website at

It Can't Happen Here

We all read the stories, you know the ones about the young girl taken by a predator, or wife shot by her husband, or the little child beaten by the person left to care for it. Yes, we've all read the stories. And we all know that it happens, and yet for some reason we tend to push the thought that it could happen in our town, to the back of our minds. We allow ourselves to wake up everyday, getting dressed and carrying on with our lives, giving ourselves the false security that it could never happen here... not in our town. Even when it happens in the next town over, we reassure ourselves that it still couldn't happen here... the other town was different, the people involved weren't from here. We push that little nagging voice that tells us that next time it could be here as far back as we possibly can. It's of no fault of our own- no one wants to think that these tragic stories could play out so close to where they live, to where their kids go to school, or their spouses head off to work at everyday.

One of the first crimes I wrote about involved a semi local man who had drowned his little boy. The case really was located just a stones throw away, but it wasn't here. It wasn't in the place I'd grown up, in the town I knew. But, the headlines that a "local" man had murdered his son still touched too close to home, and reminded me that it can happen anywhere. I still hoped that it'd never happen any closer.

March 23 seemed to drag on forever. Just a few days prior, the weather had been as close to Spring feeling as one can get, with bright blue skies, cooling breezes and almost a hint of summer heat shining off the sun. But, by that Friday, the weather had once again turned and the rain drizzled in with a cold chill, they said highs in the 50's, but after feeling the teasing warmth of the days before, it felt more like a chilly 30 degree fall day. The sound of rain splashing into the already muddy puddles had replaced the constant chirping of birds, and the only reminder of the warm weather was the few toys still scattered across lawns.

Daniel Stiles was watching his girlfriend's two young children while she was at work Friday morning- Mai, 2; and her older brother Matthew. Although Stiles had dated their mother for 6 months, and had also had a longer on again off again relations with her, he was not the children's biological father.

The call came into 911 operators around 11. The caller, a frantic sounding man, rushed to inform the operator that "she's not breathing, she's like barely breathing, her stomach is bloated".

The dispatcher would have a squad arriving in barely over 4 minutes, but by then it would be too late for the 2 year old girl, and police would arrive to begin investigating just what had happened to Mia Jorris.

As deputies and paramedics were responding to Mia's injuries, a neighbor had stepped in to assist with Matthew. At first, she thought he might be ill, as he was complaining about stomach pains. She alerted police, and as it turned out, the 3 year old wasn't sick- he was injured also.

Two little children, just 2 and three years old. One bloated in her stomach, the other complaining of stomach pains.

Mia died as a result of her injuries, Matthew was sent to the hospital, where he is currently recuperating.

Dan Stiles is being held on $500,000 bail, after being charged with felonious assault against Matthew. Investigators are still looking into the death of Mia.

Last year, one of the children had a broken leg, various stories were given about how it had happened. Allen County Children’s Services had also been informed about the family, although they refuse to comment publicly about the case (or lack of one) with their office.

Although police believe that Stiles will also be charged in connection with Mia's death, they have not as of yet released any details about cause of death.

Friday was a gloomy rainy day, one that seemed to lag on forever. I'd been inside, sitting at my desk, wishing it was 70 degrees again, and wishing I'd planted my bulbs on the days that it had been. The rain, the soggy mud, the overcast skies- it was no good for playing outside, so I'd taken to sitting joking with my husband about this or that. The scanner interrupted us every few moments, mostly with conversations from the local taxi company or the refinery. As it went searched through the channels, it picked up the end of one conversation- a child not responding, a two year old.

I wondered what had made the child sick, or if they'd fallen and gotten hurt. Maybe they'd choked on something. I never wondered who had hurt them... because we all know- that can't happen here.

"Three-fourths of the time, I was sick"

Sick, as in deviant, disgusting, heinous, disturbing, perverted, wrong, abusive, predatory. Although, in fairness that's how I'm going to define the use of his wording, and most likely he's not using the word "sick" in the same terms. He's using it for sympathy. As a excuse to why he has to be "innocent".

Thankfully, the jury didn't see it his way:

BROOKVILLE, Pa. — A man was convicted of several hundred sex-crime counts for abusing a girl for a decade.

A jury found Clarence Thomas, 56, guilty Tuesday of 971 counts. Those included more than 100 charges each of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault and corruption of minors; more than 200 counts of aggravated indecent assault; and nearly 400 counts of indecent assault.

Prosecutors accused Thomas of sexually assaulting his victim, now 20, from 1994 to 2004. Charges were filed in March 2006.

Almost a thousand charges, over a decade.

This man doesn't deserve the air he breathes. I can only hope that he spends the rest of his life behind bars, and that it's a very short stay for him.... if you know what I mean.

Three Years

She was five. He was her father. She trusted him. He gave her a life sentence. She might face future infertility. He will serve three years.

The Star-
An HIV-infected dad who breached his “sacred trust” of parenthood and gave his 5-year-old daughter gonorrhea has been sentenced to three years in jail.

His little girl was “a helpless child who loved and trusted her father,” said Superior Court Justice Bonnie Croll.

There is a chance that his daughter will suffer from future infertility, the judge noted.

Last October, Croll found the 47-year-old man, who cannot be named, guilty of sexual assault causing bodily harm and the sexual touching of his daughter in July 2001.

“By passing gonorrhea on to his young daughter (he) caused her severe physical discomfort,” the judge said. Although she was “crying and screaming” with pain, he didn’t tell his wife that he had the disease, the judge said.

“Even more repulsive” was the fact that he did not divulge his having gonorrhea when asked directly by his wife, the judge said.

“Sexual assault of a child cannot be tolerated and must be denounced,” even more so when perpetrated by a parent, Croll said.

Someone tell this judge that three short years doesn't really seem to give muscle to the statement that :"Sexual assault of a child cannot be tolerated and must be denounced,”

David Lawrence Dixon

As I'm catching up on reading the news tonight, I have to wonder if PA's Judge Howsare watched his local news tonight. And wondering if it had any effect on him.

If you recall, Howsare refuses to set a sentencing date for a Richard Crawford, who was convicted of over three hundred counts of sexual abuse of a minor. (The two links above will take you to past posts on this disgusting case of Judaical negligence, the next will take you to the new story of Dixon)

WJAC 6: A registered sex offender charged with sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl in Richland Township is now being questioned about the rape of a West Virginia girl.

David Lawrence Dixon, 41, of Sharpsburg, was arrested in Dubois on March 20 and faces six charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl in a Richland Township parking lot.

Police said they are also questioning Dixon about the abduction, rape and release of a West Virginia girl on Feb. 18.

Investigators with the FBI said they have investigated hundreds of leads in the Wheeling, W.Va., case and said Dixon is now among those leads.

Dixon is being held without bond at the Allegheny County Jail in connection with the assault of the 5-year-old. He has not been charged in connection with the abduction and rape in Wheeling.

Police said the 5-year-old child's family considered Dixon a friend and were unaware that he was a Megan’s Law offender.

Just as a reminder, Crawford isn't even on the list, because he's not been sentenced despite his conviction. And, he's out on bond, because the judge doesn't know the difference between accused and convicted.

On tis current story, well I'm sickened. And wondering just how many more times we will have to read these sorts of stories.

Arizona Predator Strikes Again

Chandler, AZ has a problem. In an unsettling update, it seems that a sexual predator who attacks young girls has struck again:

Arizona- The first occurred on Jan. 16, when a man dressed as a utility worker tried to get into a house on Hamilton St. about 8:40 a.m. There were two girls in the house who fought back and the suspect fled.

The suspect has also been tied to the Jan. 31 assault on a 14 year-old girl at an apartment complex near McQueen and Knox Rds. The suspect forced his way into her apartment as she left for school just after 8:00 a.m.

The latest attack took place about 7 a.m. on Friday, but was not reported until Sunday afternoon.

Griner said the victim’s mother had left for work. A short time later, the suspect got into the house and drew a weapon.

The victim told officers a similar incident happened about a month ago. In that case, a man gained entry into the house, then woke her up claiming a nearby house was on fire.

Foxnews has a little more on this:
The female victims are raped in their bedrooms and foyers, police said. The attacker carries a weapon, threatens the girls and always manages to escape. He has raped three teenage girls since January, according to local police.

"The suspect is watching the victims prior to when he attacks them. He knows when the parents are leaving," Chandler Police Department spokesman Sgt. Rick Griner told on Tuesday.

The predator scum bag could be living near, or working near a particular area of Chandler, as all of his known attacks have happened near the same stretch of road:
All of his attacks blamed on the predator have occurred within a 1.5-mile stretch around McQueen Road, from north of Ray Road to south of Chandler Boulevard. Police believe the attacker probably lives nearby.

The arrows in the image to the left don't reflect addresses, just the roads of the attacks, and with McQueen Road running down the center of the image. The suspect is said to be a Hispanic male who speaks English, with a spanish accent. He may be driving a white, newer model, Ford F-150 four door pick up truck with tinted windows and an unknown Arizona plate. Due to clothing he was wearing during one attack, he may have recently had a job painting, as he had spots of light blue and white paint drops on them.

Anyone with any information on the suspect is encouraged to call Silent Witness at (800) 343-8477 or the Chandler Police Department at (480) 782-4130.

David Waser

David Waser might have once been a respected minister at the Second Church of Christ in Newark, might have been- although it's almost certain that he's not now, and wouldn't have been had his congregation members been aware of his out of church behaviors.

NBC 4- The former minister at the Second Church of Christ in Newark pleaded guilty to the receipt of child pornography Wednesday.

As part of a plea deal, David Waser could face twenty years in prison, NBC 4 reported.

According to prosecutors, last June Waser paid $130 for several child pornography videos via the Internet. Authorities said Waser actually purchased the videos from a sting operation operated by the U.S. Postal Service.

Inspectors later searched Waser's home and allegedly found all of the purchased tapes, including one in the VCR.

Police said Waser admitted to wanting to watch the tapes, and said he admitting to fondling young girls during the past 30 years.

Now, I'm all for the 20 years for the child pornography, of course- I'd be happier with more, but I know that sometimes we have to be willing to take whatever sad plea that is made. What I am concerned about, and certainly raising an eyebrow over is that he admitted to molesting young girls over the last thirty years. Does the plea deal cover this? I really hope not.

And you thought your neighbor was bad...

Most of us are lucky when it comes to neighbors. Oh, they may play music too loudly at night, they make tend to think upkeep of their homes only involves moving the junk cars around when the weeds become higher than the rooftops, they might even believe that other peoples yards are a recycling center for their beer cans- but they could be worse. Just ask Christina Hager.

Hager was outside recently when she was approached by David Marquart, her 57 year old neighbor. It could have been a pleasant meeting between the two neighbors, but instead it ended with Marquart requesting to have sex with Hager's 10 year old daughter.

NBC 4- "We're scared to go home, the kids are having bad dreams," Hager said. "I can't sleep at night. We just don't know what to do."

Hager said Marquart approached her and asked to have sex with her 10-year-old daughter.

Marquart was recently arrested and charged with one count of compelling prostitution for allegedly asking Hager if could pay her up to $4,000 to have sex with her daughter, Alvarez reported.

I don't know about you, but I suddenly am a little more willing to put up with my neighbors year around junk car sales that overflow from his front yard.

Guest Post By James Renner

Sometimes, there are crimes that we hear of that continue to haunt us throughout our lives. For author James Renner, the tragic unsolved murder of Amy Mihaljevic was one of those cases, and as a result he has focused a good deal of time and effort into studying the case- with the hope that one day it will be solved.

The following is a guest post from James, providing some background information on Amy's murder, along with some recent updates.

The Search for Amy’s Killer Continues, James Renner

I suspected when I finished writing my book, Amy: My Search for Her Killer, that the search, itself, was only beginning. I had spent nearly two years researching this unsolved abduction/murder of 10 year-old Amy Mihaljevic. I dug up information on new suspects, uncovered new clues, and tracked down witnesses. But I had a feeling this case was bigger than I imagined.

I was right.

Some background, for those unfamiliar with the case: Amy lived in the affluent Cleveland suburb of Bay Village, the idyllic town that had been rocked by the Sam Sheppard case in 1954. On October 27, 1989, Amy was abducted in broad daylight across the street from the police station on the very day Sam Sheppard’s son returned to town to ask the local police to re-open the file on his mother’s murder. Amy’s body was found by a jogger four months later, in a wheat field 50 miles from Bay Village. Her killer has never been found.

I attempted to solve the case but unfortunately, came up short. However, I believe that my book holds enough clues that if the right person reads it, a solution will finally be uncovered. Since its publication in October of 2006, I have heard from hundreds of people who want to share their own piece of the puzzle.

Here’s some of the new info:

-Several other girls may have received phone calls from Amy’s killer in the weeks leading up to her murder. These other girls lived in North Olmsted, a nearby community. Police and FBI have been searching for a link between these girls and Amy. One of the girls, now a 27 year-old woman, contacted me and said that a name in the book was familiar to her. This man had access to the unlisted phone numbers of the North Olmsted girls and was also familiar with the horse stables where Amy took lessons.

-Bay Village detectives have launched a complete review of the case and have asked several suspects to submit DNA samples. One suspect I identified in my book only as “Mr. Harvey” gave a sample and immediately contacted a local defense attorney who is known for successfully defending murder suspects. Another suspect has so far avoided giving his own sample.

-A man claiming to have pictures of the crime scene gave me copies, which I posted on my blog at

-I have also been contacted by a number of psychics claiming to have received visions of the crime. I met with one and have posted our strange encounter on the blog as well.

I think we’re getting close to catching this guy, finally.

I’ll let you know when we do.

In the meantime, you can view original news reports about the crime here.

You can also order the book here.

AMW This week

This Saturday at 9pm on your local Fox station, AMW will be asking for your help in bring in wanted criminals, and in solving open cases. Here's a preview of some of the cases they will be sharing:

Sexual Predator Being Hunted by Police:

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Investigators say Simpson approached the house, somehow unlocked a door and got inside. The woman's husband walked out into the foyer, unaware that a violent predator had invaded his home. Police say he spotted Simpson and the two struggled until the man slipped on a rug. That gave Simpson his opportunity. Cops say he jumped on the man, used a gun to beat him into submission, and dragged him into a bathroom. Police say Simpson then left the man half-conscious while he committed a horrendous crime against the man's family.

With the husband out of the way, police say Simpson forced the man's wife to take off her pants. Just as he asked whether anyone else was in the house, the couple's daughter appeared. Investigators say Simpson, confident no one else was home, forced the mother and daughter into the master bedroom and committed an unthinkable act.

Cops say Simpson told the daughter to take off her pants, then raped the 17-year-old girl in front of her mother. Investigators say he then robbed the family and ran out the front door. Police have been looking for him ever since.

New information on the Border:
TEXAS- A beloved Texas Sheriff's Deputy was sentenced to 366 days in prison Monday, for what many say was just doing his job. What is truly going on at the U.S. - Mexico border? And is an over-zealous U.S. Attorney partly to blame?

Pedophile on the run:
Phoenix, Arizona- Cops say Jack O'Neill is the lowest of the low - a pedophile who used his power and influence as an adult to prey on children. Authorities in Phoenix, Arizona believe that O'Neill's reign of abuse went on for two years before the 46-year-old packed up and went on the run.

For more information on these case and others, make sure to tune into this weeks America's Most Wanted, or stop by the AMW website.

Disturbing case of George David Edenfield

I'm going to suggest that you not read this, although, you should read it just so that you know what sort of person could have been locked up, but received a plea deal, and could have been locked up again, but got probation instead.

The indictment contains grim details about the case that police and prosecutors had not previously revealed. It says Christopher died from asphixation March 8 -- the day he was reported missing -- after the suspects choked him while "ignoring his complaints that they were hurting him."

Full story, and as usual, it gets worse.

A Carnival Story

Harding of TO Crime has a special treat ready for you this week, as he is holding the Carnival of the True Crime Blogs, and it's really one you don't want to miss.

Probation and George David Edenfield

A sex crime that resulted in nothing more than a nice little plea deal benefiting the perp. A sentence of probation after violating conditions of Georgia's sex offender registry. And the result of this- a little boy coldly murdered.

SOURCE- Three days before young Christopher Michael Barrios disappeared, a child molester suspected in the six-year-old's killing was sentenced to probation instead of prison for violating conditions of Georgia's sex offender registry.

The suspect, George David Edenfield, also never served prison time for his 1997 child molestation conviction after he struck a plea deal with prosecutors, according to a review of court records by The Associated Press.

Stephen Kelley, district attorney for the Brunswick Judicial Circuit, said today that it was not a breakdown in the system -- just a tragic situation.

I have to disagree- any arrangement that is made by the court which results in the ablity of a convicted sexual offender to kill a child, or to put another notch on his list of victims- is nothing if it isn't a breakdown in the system. You see, the "system" is suppose to protect, is suppose to provide justice for those who are victims of crime, and prevent others from becoming victims.

The justice system is being mutilated before our very eyes by those who are responsible for ensuring that the laws put in place to protect society actually do. If this DA believes that justice was in any way served, either by the first plea deal or the probation- then he is sadly mistaken.

Silly MSM

The main stream media is just silly. I mean, they say that they report the news, but so often it seems that they only report the parts they want. Take this story, (found via

Police arrested a teen suspected of trying to lure three young girls into a stolen vehicle after a group of parents confronted the boy at a Scottsdale elementary school.

The teen fought with a group of as many as 10 parents Monday evening at Copper Ridge Elementary School, 10100 E. Thompson Peak Parkway after the parents used their vehicles to trap the teen on campus until officers arrived.

The 16-year-old boy told officers he escaped from a bus traveling to a "group home" in the West Valley before going to a friend who reportedly gave him a stolen Buick sedan, which he drove to the Scottsdale school.

Police released the boy's name; however, The Republic is withholding it because he is a juvenile.

Because he is a juvenile? Really? The police release it, but the news won't? I know, you're thinking that this is limited to just this one news source, but it's not. In fact, another news source released the name, and then had second thoughts and withdrew the name from their story.

I wanted to know the name of the perp- because lets face it, we have a right to know. So, I did a Yahoo News Search for "Copper Ridge Elementary School", and the first results were:

Mob of parents corners suspect until police arrive Open this result in new window
KTVK Phoenix - 2 hours, 8 minutes ago
A suspect accused of trying to lure children at a Scottsdale elementary school was corralled by a mob of parents before police arrested him Monday. According to Scottsdale police, a parent spotted Anthony Ross chatting with three girls at Copper Ridge Elementary School
But, evidently after posting the story, KTVK had a change of heart on sharing his name, so they removed it from the story, the story on their site now reads:

A suspect accused of trying to lure children at a Scottsdale elementary school was corralled by a mob of parents before police arrested him Monday.

According to Scottsdale police, a parent spotted the suspect chatting with three girls at Copper Ridge Elementary School in Scottsdale.

I don't know about you, but I take offense to people who believe that just because some pervert is under 18, they should have some sort of extra protection despite the fact that they are openly attempting to prey on our children.

So, since the news media in Arizona doesn't seem to think it's important that you know the suspected perp's name, I'm going to go ahead and give it to you a few times:

Anthony Ross Anthony Ross Anthony Ross Anthony Ross Anthony Ross Anthony Ross Anthony Ross Anthony Ross Anthony Ross Anthony Ross

Now, this is important, because according to yet another news story that didn't run the name either:

The teen was released to a guardian at his group home and is facing charges of aggravated assault, endangerment and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Yep, he was released. Back to the same group home, because after all- they did such a good job of watching him to begin with.

Sins of the Priest

I happen to be overly open to the idea that anyone can be a pervert. I've read too many cases, talked to too many people to ever believe that any group of people can be exempt from having a bad apple within their clan, friends, or fellow professionals. And, I've read a few hundred too many reports on the merits of so called religious men to believe that being a priest or religious leader means that one can't also be a pedophile.

Oddly enough, there are still people that will hear allegations against a church leader and refuse to believe that their humble priest could ever do wrong. If I had a penny for every time I heard or read "he is such a good (fill in priest, rabbi, bishop, elder etc), he just couldn't have done this" I'd be "lost in somewhere warm sunny, and peaceful" rather than Lima, Ohio.

Father Joe is one such priest, accused of hurting those that he should have been preaching to. There is really not any part of the story that I could link, that would show the complete picture, and I don't want to paste in the entire piece, so I'm just going to put up the link, and ask for your thoughts.

Mother Wants Changes

It's been months since little Coralrose Fullwood's father last seen his daughter alive. Dale Fullwood had checked on her when he came home at 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 17. When the family awoke around 7 a.m., Coralrose and her blanket were gone. In the moments and days that followed, a real life nightmare unfolded for her family.

Around noon on Sept 17, a man who had been out walking his dog stumbled upon Coralrose's body, off in a wooded lot behind a house that was under construction. Although months have passed since her murder, no arrests have been made in the case, although one unrelated arrest was made.

Coralrose had shared the home with four of her six siblings and her parents, Dale and Ellen-Beth Fullwood. They moved there two months before her death from Cape Coral.

While the investigation continued, Florida Department of Children & Families officials showed up at the Fort Myers home of Coralrose’s grandparents, where her family had gathered. They had with them a warrant and a Lee County Sheriff’s deputy and demanded the slain girl's siblings be turned over for questioning and to remain in the DCF's custody due to the children being in imminent danger.

During a hearing the next day, DCF abuse workers claimed the Fullwood’s home in North Port was filthy, littered with feces and infested with cockroaches.

The grandparents, Saul and Doreen Vanderwoude, who live in south Fort Myers, were granted custody of the children.

On Oct. 12, Fullwood was arrested on two counts of possession of child pornography. Police allegedly found videos on his computer at his North Port home. The State Attorney’s Office officially charged him on Oct. 30.

Coralrose's parents lost custody of their surviving children, after child services found their home to be in acceptable conditions for the children to continue living there. Her parents separated, and her dad faces a trial for the child porn in July.

Her mother, faced with the murder of her child, and the arrest of the man she had shared a life with, has become a woman with a mission:
NBC2- The mother of a sexually assaulted and murdered girl from North Port met with state lawmakers to change the laws on child pornography - making it easier to get convictions. NBC2 obtained an exclusive interview with her.

Six-year-old Coralrose Fullwood was found dead just blocks from her home last September. DNA evidence showed that she was sexually assaulted before her killing. But it took months to discover.

"New York City has a mobile crime unit. It takes eight hours to run DNA. Whenever there's a major murder scene, boom the van goes. Why doesn't Florida have one of these? asked Coralrose's mother Ellen Fullwood.

Fullwood marched up to the capitol steps in Tallahassee and demanded answers.
It's hard to imagine what this woman has went through over the last months, but like so many who have faced the pain of losing a child, she has been impassioned, with a desire to see to it that something good can grow out of the torment she has suffered through.

Dear Judges,

An open letter to those that sit on "the bench".

Dear Judges,

On behalf of those that voted you into office with the expectation that you would do what you were put there to do, I would like to make a few simple requests.

If you can not, in good faith force yourself to abide by the guidelines of the laws put into place by the legislators of the state in which you occupy the position of judge when it comes to sentencing those convicted of heinous crimes in a manner which is both appropriate and necessary- please have the decency to remove your robe and find a new occupation.

If you can not in good faith respect the voters who put you into office under the belief that you will honorably fulfill your position, and acknowledge the difference between one accused of a crime, and one convicted of a crime, and hand out justice accordingly- please have the decency to remove your robe and find a new occupation.

If you can not in good faith respect and act upon the responsibility that comes with having your office when it comes to following judicial procedures and provide justice to those who stand before you as victims of crime by handing out sentences that are befitting of the crimes committed against them, in a timely manner without using a guilty verdict as a chance to let a predator have one more free run in society as you sit back and ponder the aspects of the law- please have the decency to remove your robe and find a new occupation.

If you can not in good faith take the verdict handed out by a jury and understand that the once accused person who stands before you is now a convicted person deserving whatever penalties may apply for the crimes he committed, and in realizing this, if you can not summon the courage to do your job and sentence him- please have the decency to remove your robe and find a new occupation.

We, the people of the state in which you sit as judges on a bench in our court rooms, would like you to understand that we demand that you take your current given occupation seriously, we demand that you fulfill your job requirements with the same honor and decency and moral accountability as those who sat on that bench before you. We, the victims of those who stand before you as convicted criminals demand that you do the job you were put there to do, with the urgency required in order deliver justice swiftly and fully on our behalf.

And, finally- let me be perfectly frank when I say this:

If you are unable to do your job, or if you are just unwilling to do it- get your ass off the bench, because we are more than willing to find someone who can and will do the job that your position requires. After all, we did not elect, nor support your appointment to your position so that you could let our courtrooms run amok, disregard guidelines set out in our laws on sentencing, or delay our right to justice due to your own questionable ideals.

Recent Bad Judges:
The Wide Open Range
Who Will Protect Our Children?
Another One Who Was Out Early for ‘Good Time’
and of course, the current thorn in my side,Judge Daniel L. Howsare, which if I may ask, would someone call this idiot and ask when sentencing will be? I think they may have started screening my calls.

Friday, March 16, 2007

Judge Daniel L. Howsare

I've previously posted on this, but with a little new information at hand, I wanted to share it again, and ask that you show your support in this case, and demand justice.

Imagine if you will, that your boyfriend preys upon your daughter for five years. She suffers in silence, as so many children do, until one day when she speaks up. After five years of sexual abuse, she's gained the strength to tell of the abuse she's went through and seek justice.

Your boyfriend, Richard Crawford is convicted of 390 counts of sexual abuse, with almost a hundred carrying mandatory five year sentencing. You can sit back, and focus on helping your child overcome this. She can breath easier, knowing that this man will never hurt her, or another child again. Because time has went by, and the abuse is hard to prove- the investigation takes it's toll on her, requiring her to go through not only the telling of the abuse, but even the extent that she wears a wire and gets him to admit to the abuse. But, after everything- it's over. He's been convicted. You know, as does your little girl, that he will be spending the rest of his life in jail.

And, then, the unthinkable happens. The judge in the case, Judge Daniel L. Howsare decides that he's just not sure about sentencing. He just can't make up his mind on whether Crawford is punishable under Megan's law.

Just to give you an idea of Crawford's charges, just so that you can see the sort of man we are talking about, here is the current criminal charges filed against him, for which he is waiting sentencing on. Included in his charges are 18§3121§§6 - 53 / Rape / Person Less Than 13 Years Age, and 18§3126§§A7 Ind Asslt Person Less 13 Yrs Age- both listed more times than I care to count.

Megan's law lists those as:

Rape (18 Pa. C.S. § 3121)
(a) Offense defined – A person commits a felony of the first degree when the person engages in sexual intercourse with a complainant:

1. By forcible compulsion;
2. By threat of forcible compulsion that would prevent resistance by a person of reasonable resolution;
3. Who is unconscious or where the person knows that the complainant is unaware that the sexual intercourse is occurring;
4. Where the person has substantially impaired the complainant's power to appraise or control his or her conduct by administering or employing, without the knowledge of the complainant, drugs, intoxicants, or other means for the purpose of preventing resistance; or
5. Who suffers from a mental disability which renders the complainant incapable of consent.

(c) Rape of a Child – A person commits a felony of the first degree when the person engages in sexual intercourse with a complainant who is less than 13 years of age.

Indecent Assault (18 Pa. C.S. § 3126) – if the offense is a misdemeanor of the first degree or greater
A person who has indecent contact with the complainant or causes the complainant to have indecent contact with the person.

Both are crimes that are SEXUAL OFFENSES as declared by Megan's Law.

Currently, despite having been convicted of 390 sexual offenses, Richard Crawford is not on PA's sexual offender list. Despite being convicted of 390 sexual offenses, Richard Crawford is not sitting in jail. Because the judge doesn't find it important to remove this man from walking the streets freely.

Richard Crawford is out on bond until the judge in this case decides that he has put enough children as risk, and sentences Crawford. Yet, despite the high likelihood that Crawford could skip out, or that he could decide to prey upon one more child- liberal Judge Daniel L. Howsare won't even set a date for sentencing.

Bedford County District Attorney Bill Higgins, did his job. He presented his case, and won a conviction. And now he's asking the the judge do his job, and sentence Crawford.

WJAC 6 News Richard Crawford molested his ex-girlfriend's daughter for five years, from the time she was 7-years-old until she was 12. Despite his conviction last December, the victim still does not have justice.

Higgins said he blames the judge.

"Here's an opportunity to take a violent sex offender off the street and the judge doesn't take the opportunity to do that and lets him walk out of the courtroom," said Higgins.

Howsare refused to comment about his decision, but Higgins said it's because Howsare isn't sure if Crawford is really a sexually violent predator. For the state, there's no question.

"The state offender association board has determined he is a sexually violent predator," said Higgins. "We just need the court to go along with that."

There is more coming out in this story, and I'm hoping to be able to bring you new information within the next few days- on both the case and this irresponsible judge.

For now, I have to ask that you take a moment to make a few phone calls- and let the Bedford County Court know that allowing a sexual predator to remain free (it's been three months) while a judge refuses to do his job, is just not acceptable.

At this point, a child has been horribly abused, and her abuser is being allowed to roam free. We have to demand that not only he be sentenced, but that the sentence be set at the maximum allowed by law. This child suffered for five years at the hands of this predator- we can not allow her to suffer now, at the hands of this judge.

Answers to your questions....

Every now and then, I get a search referral that isn't exactly a "screen capture of a perv" doing a search for illegal images, stories or other online stuff. Sometimes, what I end up getting is in the from of a question. I like to be helpful and answer these questions when I can. Today, a question came in that I feel really should be answered- because I have this odd feeling that this situation isn't happening just to one person, and so it may be beneficial to post the answer for others too.The question, "what action should be taken after discovering child pornography e-mail to my husband" is simple to answer.

First, do NOT delete the email. It's evidence of illegal activities.

Turn off your computer. Call your local sheriff, and have them come out to investigate, due to the nature of the crime- it's more than likely that they will have to take your computer. Or, if you are handy with the computer and know how- completely unplug your computer and load it up in your car- and then take it into your local sheriffs office.

I wouldn't bother telling the husband that you found his illegal porn. Mainly because he's likely to attempt to delete it, or do something worse.

I would seriously suggest that you see a lawyer, and file for divorce, and custody of any children you may have.

This week's AMW

This week some of the cases being featured on America's Most Wanted are:

Boston, Massachusetts…JAMES “WHITEY” BULGER…After the Oscar-winning motion picture "The Departed," a movie based on organized crime in Boston, was released, the FBI was flooded with rumors about sightings of the famous Boston mob boss. Now, new clues have surfaced in the international manhunt for this notorious mobster.

Harrisonburg, Virginia…RONALD JEROME JONES CAPTURE…After more than 20 years on the run, police say it took just 15 seconds on AMW to catch accused killer Ronald Jerome Jones. Virginia State Police have called Jones one of the most elusive fugitives they've looked for, but after Jones got his "15 Seconds of Shame" on Saturday night's AMW, a tipster reported that Jones was hiding in plain sight -- living as a homeless person in Greensboro, North Carolina.

New York, New York…RONALD RODRIGUEZ…Ronald Rodriguez is wanted in New York for killing a man who asked him to stop littering in the street. Rodriguez goes by the name ‘Shorty’ because he’s only five-foot-one. Cops say he could be hiding in New York, Georgia, or the Carolinas.

Flushing, Michigan…DAVID ANDREWS…Cops in Flushing, Michigan say David Andrews befriended co-workers and neighbors and then molested their children. He loves ice hockey, and has worked as a short order cook. Andrews could be in Rhode Island, Florida, or Ohio.

Wheeling, West Virginia…UNKNOWN WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA KIDNAPPER…The FBI says he's a sexual predator who has already targeted two unsuspecting girls - and he could strike again anytime. But who is he? According to FBI agents, the answer may lie within the clothing left behind by an 11-year-old victim - a pair of pink socks and a red hooded sweatshirt. These could be key forensic clues, and could help someone identify this kidnapper.

Queens, New York…UNKNOWN ROSE MORAT MUGGER…New Yorkers say they are outraged by recent news in their city. An unknown attacker was caught on surveillance tape slugging a 101-year-old woman in her Queens apartment after cops say he had attacked another woman in her 80's just thirty minutes earlier. The public says they have had enough of the violence and are putting their foot down. Harsher laws may soon be passed to punish anyone who hurts the elderly.

Washington, DC…UNKNOWN DC HOUSEKEEPER SERIAL RAPIST…For the past four years, six different police jurisdictions in the Washington, DC area have been on the hunt for the man cops say is forensically linked to the violent rapes of six hotel housekeepers. Between the jurisdictions, authorities have three different composites -- but only one goal: find this monster and bring him to justice.

Sonoma County, California…UNKNOWN JASON ALLEN AND LINDSAY CUTSHALL KILLER…It’s a question that cops in Sonoma County, California are asking...could some devil-like carvings on driftwood be the clues that unlock the 2004 murders of Jason Allen and Lindsay Cutshall?

Dallas, Texas…NORMA MORALES AND DAFNE DESTINY MORALES MISSING…Cops in Dallas, Texas are searching for 8-month-old Dafne Destiny Morales and her mother, Norma Morales. They disappeared after they left their apartment on February 24, 2007 and haven't been seen since. Cops believe they are in danger.

Sarasota, Florida…GARTH MALLOY…Police in Sarasota, Florida have been looking for a man who they say sexually molested a 15-year-old boy in 2001. But cops say this wasn't the first sick act committed by Garth Malloy -- they say this fugitive's sick crimes date back two decades. It's time to bring Malloy down before he has a chance to hurt another child.

Please be sure to tune in for information on these cases and others, Sat at 9pm on your local Fox Station.

Sick Grandmother

I'm too disgusted to even say anything about this one, so here's the link. And a preview:

A Clifton, Colo., woman was jailed Wednesday on suspicion she had her grandchildren perform sexually explicit acts while a man she met on the Internet watched.

Richard Crawford

Richard Crawford spent five years molesting his girlfriends daughter, starting when she was just seven years old. In all, Crawford was convicted of 390 counts of sexual abuse in December of last year.

Today, Crawford is out on the streets, walking as freely as you and me.

In fairness to the judge in this case, Judge Daniel Howsare, Crawford isn't free due to a light sentence... because he hasn't actually been sentenced at all.

It seems that Judge Daniel Howsare can't decide if Crawford is a "violent sex offender", so he has been refusing to sentence him. Instead, against the advice and pleas from Bedford County District Attorney Bill Higgins the judge has allowed Crawford to wonder around, out on bond.

"The state offender association board has determined he is a sexually violent predator," said Higgins. "We just need the court to go along with that."

Higgins asked the judge to at least put Crawford in jail until the sentencing but the judge denied the request. He also wouldn't reschedule a new sentencing date until after he reviews the Megan's Law qualifications.

"I expressed my opinion in court," Higgins said. "I told him I was strongly objecting to the man walking out of the courtroom at liberty. It's very upsetting. Not only for me as a prosecutor, but for the victim. To look the victim in the eye and say we haven't been able to give justice for you yet."

Each of the 390 counts comes complete with a mandatory sentence of five years each. That's over 1950 years.... if sentenced properly, this predator will never see the free side of the jail house bars- so why are we allowing him to roam free now? Is the judge in this case hoping to grant him once last chance to abuse another child? Or is the judge just holding out, waiting for Crawford to get tired of his future prospect of sitting in prison for the rest of his life, and just take off?

UPDATES on Christopher Michael Barrios Jr

(new updates at bottom of post)
UPDATE: As I was preparing to post this, an alert came in on "christopher michael barrios". It seems that police have found the little boy, and it's not good news.

The body of Christopher Michael Barrios was discovered after police arrested four suspects -- included a registered sex offender living nearby -- who told a confusing and contradictory welter of stories that suggested Christopher was abducted, killed and buried, authorities said.

n the week since 6-year-old Christopher Michael Barrios vanished while playing near his trailer-park home, police have arrested four suspects who have told a confusing and contradictory welter of stories that suggest the boy was abducted, killed and buried. But investigators have yet to find the youngster, and are not sure what to believe.

"It's frustrating when you have someone that tells you something and they're reasonably certain of it and you check it and it turns out not to be the case. And then they tell you different," Glynn County Police Chief Matt Doering said Thursday.

Late Monday, police forced their way into the trailer where a convicted child molester, a mentally slow 32-year-old man by the name of George David Edenfield, lived with his parents. Edenfield's mother told police the boy was being kept inside, still alive. That lead proved false.

The shifting story took a grimmer turn when Edenfield's father and a family friend told authorities they buried Christopher's body in dense woods a quarter-mile from the trailer park. They agreed to lead investigators to the grave. But more than 10 hours of searching late Tuesday and early Wednesday yielded nothing.

The police chief said he believes all four were involved in Christopher's disappearance, but he would not say exactly how, or what he thinks happened to Christopher.

I know, even before I hit the publish button, that what I am about to say is neither legal, moral, or politically correct. However, I've had a damn bad day, and to be perfectly honest with all of you- I don't give a rats ass about these lying scum bags. So, without any more "sorry for saying this folks":

Can't we just take these four people out back and start stoning them already?

You know, as well as I do that these four people have been up to no good. A little innocent boy is missing- and they are busy leading police on the wild goose chase from hell. The sad fact is, if these four were involved- it's more than likely that this sweet little boy is gone. And if they are not involved... then they have willfully been wasting the time of the police, and those who have been vigorously searching for him. Either way, not one of them are worth the air they are breathing.

George David Edenfield, his mother and his father, and a family friend were arrested this week after having given various stories about Christopher to police. George David Edenfield is a convicted sex offender, dating back to a charge in 1997.

George David Edenfield, a mentally slow 32-year-old man who lived with his parents across the street from the boy's grandmother, was arrested earlier this week and charged with violating his probation from a 1997 child molestation conviction, which prohibits him from contact with children. Police said he admitted playing a role in Christopher's disappearance, but they would not be more specific.

Edenfield's parents were jailed on charges of obstruction and lying to police because they first denied knowing anything about the boy's disappearance, then later said they knew he had been abducted, authorities said.

Police had spent two days looking in an area where the family friend, and the father had claimed to have buried the little boy, and upon expanding the search area today, they found his body. The news is stating that while the boy wasn't buried, he was under a material of sorts (not being named at this time). Cause of death isn't being given, although LE has made it very clear that the child was murdered.- Latest Source

Kevin Chandler's Crime

After arguing with his girlfriend, 31 year old Kevin Chandler was left alone in his car with his 11 month old son, while the mother went into her home to grab the child's car seat.

Chandler, holding the child in his arms proceeded to stab the boy in the back, and then toss him out the car window.

Limbrock handed Devin to Chandler so she could retrieve his car seat inside the home. As she left the car, she heard Chandler swear at the boy and turned around to see him throw Devin out of the car window, according to a police report. When Limbrock picked up her son, she saw a knife in his back, the report said.

She ran back to the home, where residents called for an ambulance.

"We're still trying to determine motive here, but at this point I have no reason to believe he did this to get back at the mother or anything," the detective said.

There is no motive here, just a scum bag who somehow managed to bring a child into this world, and then decided to commit a horrific crime against the child. I have a few suggestions for punishment, but I'll hold back on sharing them since I try to not cuss too much here.

Samara Laverne Spann

Samara Laverne Spann had been bothered by her daughter while she was on the phone. She'd also been recently annoyed with the young girl, routinely calling her "devil child".

Source, via Yahoo News-
She also was upset because her daughter kept getting out of bed and interrupting a telephone conversation, according to the court filings.

Spann told investigators she drowned the girl in the bathtub of their home south of Seattle on Dec. 31, 2004, or Jan. 1, 2005, after seeking advice from someone who was interested in the occult, prosecutors said in court papers.

On Jan. 2, Spann bought a chain, a padlock and an ax at a hardware store, then cut off the girl's head, wrapped the chain about the body, put the girl's remains into a plastic bin and threw it off a bridge somewhere between King County and the Oregon border, prosecutors wrote.

About a month later, Spann, her 14-year-old daughter and an infant son moved to the Sacramento, Calif., area.

After multiple mental evaluations, this worthless piece of trash has plead guilty to the heinous murder of the six year old girl, and prosecutors will recommend just a 23-year prison term. 23 years, is not enough.

The child has never been found.

Weighing the costs

If you knew that there was a cure to one of the most dangerous issues facing your children, would you want it? I'm not talking about sitting back and hypothetically nodding your head- I'm talking about really wanting the remedy, and wanting it enough to get up off your couch and do something about it.

Joseph Duncan- convicted sex offender, killed three family members in order to kidnap two young children- evinitually brutally killed one of them, John Couey- convicted sex offender, found guilty of the kidnapping, rape and murder of a 9 year old girl, Joseph Smith- convicted sex offender, guilty of kidnapping and murder, Jesse Timmendequas- convicted sex offender, guilty of raping and murdering a 7 year old, Robert DeRosario- sex offender, sexually abused and killed a 12 year old boy, I could keep going... but you should have enough of the picture by now.

Does it anger you? Do you pick up the paper and realize just how many children we have lost, how many laws are named after someone's daughter, or son? How many more laws do we really need? What if I told you there was currently a law the would give law enforcement more funds to provide the sort of safety measures needed, followed by longer convictions for those found in violation of the law... but that because of a flaw in it's design- the law would do no good for the next three years? Would you be willing to close your eyes, and just pray that no child befalls the sort of heinous crimes that the above men committed, rather that attempting to help push the law into action now?

Congress passed a incredible law last year, meant to provide LE with more options, and stronger sentencing against those who would hurt our childrem, it is the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act. And, while the law is full of much needed funding, and important aspects that will help ensure the safety of our children, there is a glitch- it gives states THREE years to enact the new legislation. THREE YEARS. I don't know about you, but I've spent the last week wondering what has happened to a 6 year old boy, whose disappearance seems to have something to do with yet another sexual offender. The story of Christopher Barrios is just the latest in a series of horrible, horrible cases that seem to be popping up everywhere. We don't know the outcome of this case, but if past cases are any hint... it's not going to be a pleasant ending. I don't want another law named after another murdered child, and I don't want to look back three years from now and have to count the murders of children that COULD have been prevented, had we all insisted that the law go into effect now, rather than waiting three years to enforce it.

John Walsh, founder of America's Most Wanted has written a great piece on just how we are failing our children with the waiting game Congress is playing with this law. Please take a moment to click over and read it, and then together we can start contacting Congress and demanding that the funding be found, and that the States begin enforcing all of it's provisions now.
