It seems that I may have recently started something, and that in doing so I've offended the high pedophile whack job Lindsay Ashord. Don't worry, I'm not about to be upset that the little wiener is complaining and making a fuse just because someone is a little tired of him abusing the world wide web by publishing his tripe accounts of how horrible the rest of the world is for not letting him legally rape little girls.
Months ago I mentioned that Ashford had decided to play political pundit by using his sexual arousal as a means of picking the man whose children he'd most like to see growing up in the White House.
I was rather disappointed with the slow reaction time to this matter on behalf of a great many political leaders, and had recently mentioned it again. The matter really heated up when *someone* decided to point out on the Obama blogs that Ashford was up to his tricks again.
Seems that suddenly, people were worried, and worried enough that they sent this letter to Ashford.
The only thing I can say is: "Good for you Obama. I may hate your politics, and I may swear on my life that you'll never have my vote... but on this subject alone, and on this particular action, you have my respect. As long as you follow through that is."
Of course, Ashford in his usual whining ranting isn't as happy about this little development, and is pleading his rights to freedom of speech in his usual cry baby manner of complaining:
You may also remember that my nemesis, the lovely Lilo, as well as some other bloggers got very upset about the post and wrote all sorts of humourous things as a result. In fact, intrepid Lilo even went so far as to telephone the offices of several of the politicians mentioned to tell them of the blog post. Much to her surprise, none of them did anything! Undeterred, Lilo has brought up the whole thing again. It appears that this time around, somebody, somewhere, listened. Yesterday, this website received a letter from Robert Bauer of the law Perkins Coie, who represent Obama for America demanding that the pictures be taken down. Not only that, Bauer demanded that I remove any mention of Obama or his family from the website, as well as any links to Obama's website.
First off, despite the fact that I really am rather lovely- I'd think I was a little out of Ashfords league, seeing how I can defend myself against sexual predators such as himself, and I've already surpassed his level (or lack of) intelligence. But that's beside the point.
More importantly, Ashford is forgetting a very important little detail- as much as he likes to throw around the right to freedom of speech as granted by the US Constitution, he should be looking at other laws we have here, that aren't so favorable to "his kind". Such as the Child Protection act of 2003 (also known as the PROTECT ACT:
The Child Protect Act passed in 2003 gives U.S. law enforcement greater authority to pursue sexual predators across borders. It authorizes a penalty of up to 30 years in prison for U.S. citizens engaged in an act of child sexual exploitation, even if it occurs in another country.
Ashford states that I'm "undeterred", and he's right. I'll continue to be here, continue to insist that our leaders protect our children from the likes of scum like him.
Of course, like any good story, there is more to this story, which will follow this post shortly, so please check back.
UPDATE- If you are wondering just how both sides are currently responding to this news, you might want to read a cache of a recent summery of comments made at Obama's blog. Although I was not active in writing on the site, I was offered copies of the comments in unedited form PRIOR to admin of that site removing some of them.
The next phase, the next important step is for all of us to continue contacting our leaders, and question them on just how long they plan on taking before they put their children's safety first. After all, if these people can not protect their own children, how can we trust them to protect ours?
The leaders who children appear on the pedophile website include:
The list is gathered from both parties and includes images and information on the children/ grandchild of: Senator John Edwards (contact form), Governor Mark Warner, Senator Joseph Biden (contact), Senator Tom Daschle,
Little Marcus Fiesel did not have to die. He wasn't born into this world for the purpose of being bound in a blanket and packing tape, shoved into a closet, and left to die.
The little boy never really had a fair shot at life, he missed out on the love that he should have gotten from the people around him. He was short changed, both in life and in death.
David Carrol, Liz Carrol, and David's live in girlfriend- Amy Baker sat out on a path that would not only result in dysfunctional behaviors on their own parts, but in the death of Marcus- who somehow ended up in their care as a foster child.
You can find past posts about Marcus here, and a guest spot written by someone who had attended a day of Liz Carrol's trial here.
To recount a small amount of the story for those not familiar with it:
Marcus Fiesel's foster mother claimed she was at the park with four children (Marcus included) when she passed out, and the little three year old boy disappeared, police later discovered that not only had Marcus not been with her at the park, but the little boy had been abused and neglited so severly, he had died. The false report of him missing at the park was only an attempt to hide the saddening fact that the three adults: Liz, David and Amy; had wrapped the little boy in a blanket, put him in a closet and left him for a weekend while they attended a reunion. Marcus died while they were gone, and the three plotted to hide this by first burning his body and then reporting him missing. Amy Baker provided the police with information to back up this claim, and later lead them to the Ohio River, were Marcus's body had been disposed of.
In exchange for testimony against Liz and David Carrol, all charges against Amy Baker were dropped. Despite the fact that reports indicated that both she and David had previously bound the boy in blankets, and placed him in the closet in order to have sex while Liz Carrol was out of the home. [source]
Liz Carrol was tried and recently sentenced to 54 years for her part in little Marcus' death. In the court room, when the remark "They didn't even treat their dog this way, in fact the dog went with them" (speaking about the reunion) was made; Liz Carrol was overheard responding "but the dog was ALIVE" [. There are no depths of hell that are either deep or fiery enough to be truly suitable for this woman. [source 2]
David Carrol, perhaps fearing the same fate of his wife, perhaps having a moment of "what the hell have I done" has decided to accept a plea deal for his role in this horrific crime. Please don't ask why this monster is deserving of a plea deal to begin with, because I can't begin to imagine any reason for it. David's plea, given his actions, which not only consisted of abusing this little boy, but killing him (even it if was "unintentional") and then burning his body before disposing of it.
David Carrol Admits His Guilt: In a statement just before his sentencing, Carroll, 29, apologized to the community and his family, saying he was "very sorry for the loss of Marcus" and "for lying about his disappearance." He described Marcus as a "sweet, gentle and loving child who did not deserve this."
David Carroll also told the court that Amy Baker, the Carrolls' live-in girlfriend and the prosecution's key witness, was more involved in Marcus' death than anyone will ever know.
He said one of the main reason's he accepted the plea deal, which included a sentence of 15 years to life in prison and an additional year for gross abuse of a corpse, was because he did not want to force his 7-year-old son to testify against him.
I can not begin to imagine how a system set up and designed for the sole purpose of providing this child with a safe and loving home managed to fail him so greatly in life and now the system dedicated to exact justice for this child- has turned it's head and sold his life for a mere 15 years. I don't know how we can recover from the loss of his life, because we will never know the impact that he could have made in his lifetime on the rest of society had he been given all the love, all the support and all the care that he was due- rather than being wrapped in a blanket and left to die.
No child should ever have to lay in a dark closet, alone and waiting for the moment that his last breath would leave his little body.

Folks, we have yet another sick monster seeking illegal pornographic images of children.
Did I ever mention how I love statcounter.com?
Or how it allows me to download and save my stat logs, forever capturing the IP info?
On 20 December 1968 Betty Lou Jensen, 16, and David Arthur Faraday, 17 were out on a date, and had parked on a country road outside of Vallejo city limits in California. Both were found shot dead, Faraday was still sitting in the car while Jensen had managed to make it to about 30 feet from the car before being gunned down. But the murderer didn't stop there: next were Darlene Ferrin & Mike Mageau, Brian Hartnell & Cecilia Ann Sheppard, and Paul Stine.
In between the killings, and for years after, the man who would call himself by the name Zodiac began taunting both the police and the news media with letters and encrypted messages.
Now, I'm going to be completely honest, I could never begin to write "the case" the way it should be written. For that, I suggest you go to Zodiac Killer, where you will find copies of the letters, details of the case, victim information and possible suspects. What I can write, and found most interesting is that decades after the last known killing, LE has began taking a closer look into the case, and has recently submitted evidence to a crime lab in California, hoping to gain information as to just who the Zodiac really is via advanced DNA testing.
SOURCE- Vallejo police say three of the envelopes from those letters are being sent to the state crime lab for more tests. Police detectives hope advanced DNA technology will help them find their killer.
Ken Narlow was the lead detective on the Zodiac case for the Napa County Sheriff's Department. He investigated the stabbing of two college students at Lake Berryessa, which left one student dead.
The Zodiac marked the couple's car with the dates of his other attacks in Vallejo.
"He kept a score, taunting us all along," Narlow said. "He did that clear through the 70s to '74."
Many of the Zodiac's taunting letters went to the San Francisco Chronicle.
"The police shall never catch me, because I have been too clever for them," he wrote in a letter to the San Francisco Chronicle. "I enjoy needling the blue pigs."
It seems that the movie, coming out next month, featuring the Zodiac and his crimes has brought a new life to the case, and hopes that it will finally be possible to catch this mad man- and even up the scoreboard a little.
Interestingly enough, it's not just the police and Hollywood that has their eyes looking into the mystery behind the Zodiac... America's Most Wanted has lined him up in their sites, and tomorrow they will be airing a piece on the cases which will include "Walsh revealing, for the first time, details about threatening letters he received that include bizarre symbols similar to those the Zodiac put in his taunting letters to newspapers. The sender of these letters to the AMW host has never been identified. " (THE HUNT FOR THE ZODIAC KILLER- SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2007; 9 PM ON FOX)
I don't know about you, but I for one believe that if the Zodiac is alive today, he'd be pretty impressed with the attention his crimes are about to receive... and worried that time has turned on him, and is now, with the technology available to LE; on the side of his victims.
America's Most Wanted has profiled David John Sprong Jr., and actively been reviewing his case in hopes of capturing this sexual predator.
Sprong was wanted for Lascivious Conduct With A Child Under 14, and Unlawful Flight To Avoid Prosecution in California, after he fled while out on a $1 million bond in Sacramento, Calif.
Sprong is a convicted sex offender, having been convicted of rape and lewd and lascivious acts, and is currently charged in connection with several molestation cases involving young girls. He was facing a life sentence, if he was convicted under California law as a habitual sex offender. So he took his family and ran.
After skipping out on his trial, he lived in Houston, Texas and Spring, Texas before he made his way to Humble, Texas in November 2006. When AMW aired his story on the 20th of this month, they were able to talk to many of the people he had befriended while in Humble, where he had just barely eluded capture when he took off with his girlfriend and their daughter. Police believe that Sprong may have had at least two victims in Humble before he left.
But, thanks to AMW and tips from viewers of the show, there is good news to report as of yesterday:
It appears Sprong left Texas after the first airing of the case on “America’s Most Wanted.” Since January, Sprong has been featured two more times.
Last Monday, authorities found an Infiniti SUV abandoned at a bar in Hammond, Louisiana. After some digging, authorities were able to track the vehicle back to Sprong.
According to the FBI, investigators arrested Sprong at the A to Z Auto Auction in Louisiana, where he was working as a mechanic under the alias Thomas Turner for the past three weeks. His longtime girlfriend and their 10-year-old daughter were also taken into custody. The child is now in the hands of Child Protective Services.
Not only is Sprong now behind bars, but with this capture, AMW is now able to claim 918 successful captures of wanted criminals.
For updates on this case as more information on the capture is released, please see AMW: David Sprong. And, hopefully I'll have more updates here later on too.
AMW is reporting that they have an exclusive jailhouse interview with this predator, along with an interview of Clara Lenette 'Lyn' Roadear, Sprong's girlfriend who has been with him while he's been on the run. They will be airing the update on this story on Feb 24, 2007, at 9 PM on Fox. They will also be detailing this amazing capture, and the tips that lead to it.
For a sneak preview of just some of what will be aired, see their updated post, and just as a teaser, I have to share one of the finer points:
In fact, Sprong tells us he relied on America's Most Wanted for information for as long as he'd been running: he would watch on Saturdays -- and check AMW.com regularly -- to see what law enforcement officials knew about him, whether he'd been spotted, and what clues had been gathered about his whereabouts.
And after seeing himself in late January, he grabbed is girlfriend, Clara Lenette 'Lyn' Roadear, and their daughter, Justine, and jumped into their green Infiniti SUV. Sprong told us they didn't know where they were going, but they knew they needed to get out of town -- fast.
Wyoming, with 97,818 square miles and a population of 515,004 in 2006 seems to be attracting more than just vacationers and good old country boys to it's open ranges and beautiful landscapes.
Wyoming is home to about 1,200 known sex offenders. That is not a large number for such a sparsely populated state. But law enforcement officials and legislators are worried because 56 percent of those offenders moved to Wyoming after being convicted somewhere else.
Afraid that the word is out among ex-convicts that Wyoming has some of the nation's loosest restrictions on sex offenders, state legislators are rushing to tighten the laws, and they are meeting little resistance.
Wyoming also lacks a standardized system for accepting convictions from other states. That means authorities must obtain court papers on each sex offender before determining the corresponding Wyoming crime and deciding whether that person must register. That can cause long delays, because only one person is in charge of such efforts.
"It becomes daunting," said that person, Bob Brackett, program manager for the Wyoming sex offender registry.
Brackett recalled getting a call recently from a Florida sex offender who wanted to discuss the state's laws. The man eventually moved to Wyoming.
"A short time later, he called our office to ask a question, indicated that it was much easier to live here, and that he was going to call a buddy of his," another Florida sex offender, to urge him to move to Wyoming, Brackett said.
The only bright side to this is that people are starting to take notice, and are acting fast to improve the laws that govern sex offenders, both those convicted in the state, and those that choose to move there after convictions in other places.

Sometimes, parents can become so frustrated with the trials and tribulations of raising children- we feel like pounding our heads into walls. And, that's okay- because parenthood is stressful, and those feelings are normal. What isn't normal, and what isn't anywhere close to being okay is pounding our children's heads into brick walls.
The incident started Tuesday when the boy's mother was called to Hawthorne Elementary for a disciplinary problem, Elkhart police Cpl. Frank Owens said. The teacher and the boy were outside the classroom waiting for her.
The mother told the teacher she beats the boy but it does no good, Owens said. When she asked the teacher if she could go to jail for beating the boy, the teacher answered yes.
According to police, the mother replied: "I don't care who sees it."
Police say she then slapped the boy and pounded his head repeatedly into a brick wall.
To make matters worse, this mother then proceeded to drag the young boy into his classroom, encouraging fellow students to taunt and make fun of him.
Frankly, I'm not sure what the hell is wrong with this mother, but I'm hoping that a little time in jail, and the removal of her children from her home permanently will teach her to keep her hands to herself, and perhaps next time she feels the need to pound something into a brick wall... it'll be her own head.

In the past, I've been able to share with you guest posts by first time crime bloggers, true crime authors, and families of victims of crime. Tonight, I bring you a guest post by a first time observer of a criminal trial.
The trial in question is that of Liz Carrol, foster mother to Marcus Fiesel, a little boy cruelly bound and left to die in a closet.
Anonymous Guest Poster:
A First Time Observer
The trial of State of Ohio vs. Liz Carroll opened and I wanted to go.
I had watched the news articles and videos when he went missing. And when his foster mother held her news conference, I felt there was something off. She told of how Marcus went missing at the park and she spent a lot of time begging for someone to come forward and prove that he was there with her. She told of how Marcus loved her, telling of how Marcus was her foster son, but was like her own. And she told of what good parents she and David were.
I wasn't surprised when they said someone had come forward and had led them to his body, nor was it a suprise to me when they arrested David and Liz Carroll. A lot has come out in the news since that time, about foster care agency, about the Carroll's, and the woman who was staying with them as David's girlfriend, about the crime and the cover up.
It had it all. The sex scandal, the murder of a child. The story was covered in the media more extensively than any other crime I can remember in the area. Many of the major media had special sections of their sites devoted to the murder and to the search for justice. There was live video streaming of the trial and the only trial blogs that I can remember being written by the media. So it wasn't that I couldn't get the news on the trial. I could.
But the child, the crime....I wanted to attend. Going to court for any reason is intimidating. Even going as an observer. The large imposing building, the formality, the mystery of what they really do there. What is the etiquette, how do you dress? And why would I go? Was it curiosity? Was it the excitement? Or was it the true sense of closure and justice I sought?
I didn't go. I read the articles, I followed the trial blogs the media offered. I watched the live video. Each day I thought about going and didn't.
The main witness testified, and I really considered it. She was the person who had first given the story to the police. She was the person who led police to where Marcus' body was destroyed. I felt she had knowledge prior to the act, she had had the ability to prevent Marcus' death and she did nothing. The Carroll's blame her for the crime. And it was then I knew why I wanted to go to the trial so badly. I wanted her to look out at the room and know that despite the fact that she was not charged, that people knew and were upset and angry at the Carroll's and at her.
The trial that day was packed and by the time that I decided to go, there was no room left. But knowing what I wanted her to understand, clarified why I felt the need to go. And I didn't want just her to know, I wanted Liz Carroll to know also.
So I went back the next day.
Knowing there would be metal detectors, I had prepared by making sure I didn't have any change in my pockets, I didn't take my cellphone, made sure I had no metal. I got caught by the metal detector. My keys. I put them in the little basket and went through again. My little belt buckle. Took that off and went through ok.
A big building and I didn't know where to go. But when I asked, I was given directions. In the courtroom, to be honest I was busy observing. The gallery wasn't packed, but it was full. Some were family of the Carroll's, some were reporters, but many were observers like me. Several of them chatted, it seemed they may have been coming to the trial longer.
The judge came and everybody rose then sat again. The jury was brought in and everybody rose. It wasn't reverent like a church, but more quiet like a library or a movie theatre. It was formal, yet observers came and went as necessary. It wasn't dramatic like on TV, no shouting or waving of arms. Quiet, thoughtful, respectful stating of the facts. There was no drama, you had to listen attentively or you missed the important facts. Between witnesses, there were sometimes recesses and the jury was led out of the room, sometimes they put on the 'white noise' so the prosecutor and defense attorney could confer with the judge with some privacy. The 'white noise' sounded a bit like a TV that had lost the signal. Uniforms were present, but were unobtrusive. The attorneys of course wore suits, as did some of the reporters. Some of the reporters and most of the observers wore casual clothing. Just average people.
When the jury was sent for deliberation, I left. And as I drove I thought about what I had seen and heard in the courtroom. And I again questioned my role as an observer. And as I drove I turned on the radio station and a country song was on about an abused little girl who died. I had to pull over to cry. I went to show my involvement, and I went to show my outrage. I went to show that it mattered.
Will I do it again? Yes, I believe I am more likely to do it now than I ever was. It is one thing to sit at home and watch the news and tell your family and friends what you think about the crime, about the justice system and the punishment. But being there shows how the crime affects people. It shows that someone cares, and it shows your involvement. But it shows even more than that. It shows your belief that a crime against another affects us all. And it makes the justice system that is facing the accused a bit more personal and more important. After all, if no one cared- no one would show for the trial.
I must admit, I am disgusted by the proceedings going on over Anna Nicole's body, but I can't seem to look away. Thankfully, they took a 2 1/2 hour recess for lunch... so I'm able to do other things... like share my thoughts on it with you.
It's a train wreck folks. A horrible, blazing fire engulfed train wreck with people screaming and running. Although, oddly enough, they aren't screaming and running away from it- they are running towards it- at a lighting fast pace.
My summarized thoughts:
The "mother" closely reminds me of someone I know, which may account for my natural biased against her. I was never taken by Anna's ability to act, which is sad, because had she inherited the gifts of crying on whim, playing stupid and pretending to be wonderful from her mother- she might have really been impressive.
The lawyers pretty much should be ashamed to even be involved in the circus that is currently playing out in what must have once been a respectable court room, but has been severely tarnished by the absolutely horrifying style of "half-assed law, half whatever idiotic thoughts jump in my feeble mind" antics of the judge.
***Crap, there is an update RIGHT now. An extra half hour is being added to the "break", so that people can get their morbid fix of seeing a dead Anna Nicole at the ME's office.
Anyway, for those of you unable to watch the TV or any of the FOUR major media channels that are ALL playing live video from the court house ALL day long, worry not, because you can watch it live streaming on your computers right here.
As for me, I'm going to try to get something done that doesn't involve hearing about Anna, watching the hearing over her corpse, or flipping on the news.
Once again, it's time for the Carnival of the True Crime Blogs, and this week our lovely host is Jules from The Cellar. So, please head over to see what the TCB members have been working on lately.
And, while you're off visiting stop by the True Crime Blogroll, where you'll find introductions to some new members, an interview with JD, and some tid bits about your favorite crime bloggers who have been making the news lately.

My children are not for sale. You may openly support pedophiles by your absolute refusal to remove material that clearly supports and promotes the pedophile agenda of mainstreaming the sexual abuse of our children, despite the moral and legal objections to doing so... and I might not be able to convince you that the best interest of our children is not only being pushed aside- but it is being trampled upon by your willingness to sell such offensive material- however nothing will stop me from continuing to ask you to step to the plate for the sake of children everywhere. Once again, I must ask you to look at the bottom dollar, and realize that a few pennies from the sale of a book that promotes the sexual exploitation of our children, is not worth the damage being done daily to countless children in the name of "child love".
Your failure to listen, your failure to pick the well being of children over the revenue from selling this book, will come back to haunt you.
Thank you for taking the time to visit us at kraftfoods.com and for letting us know about your experience in connection with a promotional effort running on Amazon.com.
We want to assure you that we did not intend and would never want to offend anyone with our marketing efforts. We respect your point-of-view on this matter and we have shared your comments with the appropriate marketing and advertising teams.
You may have noticed that Amazon has experimented with cross-merchandising. This means that consumers shopping in various categories will see randomly-selected cross-promotional offers from other categories. So consumers who "click" on (or select) a particular book may see a message regarding offerings from the grocery category. That message may occasionally call out a Kraft item or promotion such as the one you saw.
Amazon.com offers a wide range of titles for purchase. Currently, there is no mechanism to prevent our brand promotions from being placed alongside books that don't meet our content standards. Therefore, Amazon.com has agreed to remove their cross- merchandising promotion for Kraft products from their book category. While we already have a strong content policy in place regarding on-line advertising and inappropriate sites, we continue to work closely with our on-line partners to ensure this policy is implemented appropriately.
Again, we appreciate your bringing this to our attention. We hope that you will look favorably on Kraft in the future.
Amazon removed one of the links it had to the book, but is still selling the same trash here. And while Kraft said it is removing the ads, they are currently showing up, and yes they have been informed. We'll see how long it takes to actually take them down.
Please continue to check out AZ for updates on this important issue.
Mike Sites has been talking about children, even going to their schools and this time- it's a good sort of thing.
"A sexual predator doesn't need a crowbar or an open window to get into your child's bedroom."
With that chilling visual, Michigan State Police trooper Mike Sites instantly quieted the chatter in the Bridgman High School Performing Arts Center, where some 50 parents gathered recently to hear his program on Internet Safety for Parents.
Sites, a community service officer stationed at the state police Bridgman Post on Red Arrow Highway, walked the parents through an array of dangers that their children face daily in any typical online excursion, from harassment to bullying to predatory "grooming" to actual physical molestation.
Has been up to their old tricks- catching online predators in attempts to prey upon children- again.
All I can say is: It's about time.
On Saturday, a series of women were attacked and fondled in a parking lot of a store, shortly before those attacks, an 11 year old girl who had been out shopping with her mother was "was grabbed when she entered a supermarket".
After the attacks, the man responsible lead police on a car chase, which resulted in him hitting another vehicle.
But, we shouldn't worry too much, and we shouldn't blame the attacker- because his dad says he is mentally ill, and should have never been released from a psych ward.

He took a plea deal that gave him 20 years in prison, plus five of probation for sexually abusing a child, with "special conditions" (those being that the child was under 13 during most of the abuse). However, the judge forgot to mention that the deal came with the five years in prison, and the rapist had a change of heart about his plea deal, so he appealed. The best part? Well, the appeal judges agreed with him, and tossed out the deal.
I know, you're wondering just what makes this good... well:
If Cortes simply hoped to get the state to strike a similar deal without the parole tack-on, he miscalculated, said Prosecutor Bill Mason and his aide, Oebker. Circumstances have changed, they said.
"If he wants to undo this deal, fine," Oebker said. "We have a victim who is very motivated to testify -- ready, willing and able to testify."
The state's prime witness says she is strong, too. The victim is now 21 and living in Cleveland Heights and says she is "doing a lot better" than when the case first headed to court.
"Back then, I was just 15 years old and in high school, and I was scared," she said last week. "Just the idea of taking the stand in front of him was terrifying.
"Now, I honestly hope he thinks in his brain somewhere that he wants a trial, because I'd like the chance to get him more time," she added. "I would love nothing more than to see him sit in prison for the rest of his life."
It seems that by winning the appeal, Obed Cortes lost the pretty deal he was sitting on, and is now looking at a shot at life in prison instead.
His plea deal dropped the specifications and called for prosecutors to recommend he serve only 20 years in prison, out of a possible 120 years. Common Pleas Judge Daniel O. Corrigan accepted that suggestion in January 2002.
A year ago, Cortes changed his mind and sought to withdraw his guilty plea. In considering Cortes' request, judges of the 8th Ohio District Court of Appeals seemed almost bewildered.
There is "no dispute about the defendant's culpability, which he freely admitted at the sentencing hearing," Judge James J. Sweeney said in the court's written opinion. Under those circumstances, he wrote, the notion that anyone would willingly face a potential of life in prison instead of just submitting to parole seems "a rather unrealistic proposition."
If only all child rapists were that willing to give up the deals and spend life in prison.
And, I'd also like to point out that the victim in this case deserves the utmost respect for being willing to testify, and willing to ensure that this predator remain behind bars. No matter what the age of the victim, no matter how many years have gone by since the abuse occurred- testifying always remains a difficult thing to do, and it shows a huge amount of strength on her part. She really should be commended.
As for the rapist- I'm pulling for him to get the full benefit of that appeal- and be sentenced to the max.
When the mother of an 8 year old girl put her on an airplane, sending her off to visit her grandmother in June she may have thought her biggest worry was whether the child would get lonely on the long flight. She surely never expected that the little girl would be sitting next to the likes of Ronald Evan Mays.
According to the child, the peaceful flight was abruptly interrupted when Mays pulled her legs onto his lap and began rubbing her thigh. The child also stated that at one point, Mays leaned across her to look out the window, and rubbed his arm across her chest, and frequently during the flight would "touched his pants".
Mays' attorney claimed it was someone else on the flight -- which did not have assigned seating -- who committed the abuse. The girl picked his picture out of a lineup and a woman on the flight identified Mays as the one who was sitting next to the girl.
Personally, I always love the "it wasn't me" defense, especially when not only has the victim picked them out, but other witnesses have too. Of course, it may have helped his case if he had not been found to have had (and attempted to destroy) files containing sexually explicate photos of children on his home computer when LE investigated him.
I know that some of you surf in here while at work- and that's okay with me- but it might not be okay with the company you work for.
This guy was employed by IBM (heh... a few of you might know him, hint hint) and had previously been told that his surfing of adult chat rooms was not "OK" with IBM. But, he just couldn't stop. So, after the warning, they caught him again, and canned him.
YAY! Good for IBM. After all, surfing adult chat rooms at work is not as understandable as say, surfing at my place would be.
Anyway, the guy in this case claims he's addicted to sex, and since the internet has so much available- he's become addicted to it too. I'm not sure how that can be a good defense, but it's his story- so I'll let him tell it.
In papers filed in federal court in White Plains, Pacenza said the stress caused him to become "a sex addict, and with the development of the Internet, an Internet addict." He claimed protection under the American with Disabilities Act.
American with Disabilities Act?? Are you kidding me?
The story gets crazier.... go take a look for yourself.

Some people are just sick freaks, like this pervert.

Marcus Fiesel's foster mother claimed she was at the park with four children (Marcus included) when she passed out, and the little three year old boy disappeared. It would have been any mothers nightmare- an innocent day turned into a horrify discovering, where for once all the "mother skills" in the world couldn't do anything to protect your child. But, in fact- that wasn't the case at all for Liz Carroll.
Police believe that Liz Carroll, and her husband David, were never really worried that day in the park, because they knew the truth of Marcus' whereabouts the entire time. He wasn't "missing from the park", he was "in a better place" because just days before they had bound the little child in a blanket, wrapping him as tightly as possible before securing the blanket with tape; and then left him in a closet... just as they had many times before. The difference, and most likely the one aspect of that particular time, was that when they returned to Marcus, he was no longer living. After two days of being bound in that blank (Aug. 4-6), Marcus died. And the Carrols began forming a plan to explain away the fact that he'd no longer be in the home.
In order to have a proper missing child, the first thing the Carrols would have to take care of was the lifeless body of the little boy who was once described as being so friendly he'd walk up and tell strangers that he loved them. With a detailed account from Amy Baker, David Carrol's live in girlfriend, police have come to believe that after discovering Marcus dead in his playpen, the Carrols set to disposing of his body by first burning him, and then tossing him into the Ohio River.
After disposing of Marcus in one of the most inhuman ways, the Carrols then set about planning their story for both the police and the press. They'd tell of how Liz had taken the children to a park on Aug 15th, how she'd somehow passed out, and then they would play the role of devastated parents upon discovering that their little foster boy had vanished. Liz would demand police tell her where her son was, what had happened, she'd make TV appearances pleading for the safe return of the little boy. If she was convincing enough- she might just be more successful in convincing people of the story than Susan Smith, or any other parent who attempts to cry foul in order to hide the fact that they killed their child.
It might have worked, but the Carrols ran into a few snags along the way. First, their claim that Marcus was at the park that day conflicted with witness accounts which lacked any reliable evidence that he was in fact there. Then there was the simple mistake found when police noticed that there were only three car seats in the vehicle, rather than the four that would have been there- had Marcus rode with them that frightful day.
Police have charged both the Carrols in the death of Marcus, currently Amy Baker has immunity in order to secure her testimony against them. Liz's trial is ongoing, while David's is set to start in March.

(hey, it's my blog- I can talk about peanut butter if I want to)
I can not believe the amount of attention being paid to peanut butter, and yet there's hardly anything being said about the 84 year old woman who was just sentenced for having sex with an 11 year old.
They lost the children they abused, had a trial and were sentenced to jail. Two years is NOT enough, it will not make what these poor children endured less traumatic, nor will it even come close to being actual "justice".
First off, locking children in cages is not a way of keeping them safe- it's a means of abusing them.
Second, if you actually believe that you have to go to that extreme to ensure your children are safe because you are unable to find any other means of keeping them safe- then you're not only an idiot, but you also do not deserve to be a parent.
There is nothing, nothing at all that can justify what these monsters did, and no amount of time could come close to being punishment enough.

Those are the words heard by a 10 year old girl as she was about to be sexually assaulted last week, by George Lynn Perez.
The little girl had arrived at the school 15 minutes earlier than the doors were to have opened (she arrived at 7, doors open at 7:15) and was waiting to catch another bus to her school when she was attacked by Perez, a Level 3 sexual offender.
The Morning News: She was grabbed from behind, her mouth was covered, and she was dragged into a space between a shed and a gymnasium, according to a probable cause affidavit filed Friday by Rogers Police Capt. Ron Largent.
The girl, a student at Old Wire Elementary School in Rogers, catches a bus at Eastside Elementary, a year-round school, officials said.
The abductor reportedly told the girl to pull down her pants.
"Do exactly what I say or I will hurt you bad," the man instructed, then sexually assaulted the girl, releasing her only when he heard someone approach, according to the affidavit.
"Don't tell anyone," he said, then walked away, according to the affidavit.
Robin Wilkerson, Eastside Elementary School principal, said the alleged assault occured at 7 a.m. Wilkerson said the school's doors do not open until 7:15 a.m., when teachers arrive for morning duty. Wilkerson also said officers investigating the incident advised school officials not to say anything.
The report indicates that Perez was "identified as a suspect because of previous convictions in similar incidents".
Perez has an extensive criminal history of sexual assaults:
He pleaded guilty on March 26, 1997, in Benton County to residential burglary and first-degree sexual abuse. He was sentenced to 20 years with 10 years suspended. He was paroled in September 2001; pleaded guilty on Sept. 16, 2002, in Benton County to financial identity fraud. He was placed on suspended imposition of sentence for a period of five years; pleaded guilty on Sept. 27, 2005, in Benton County to sexual indecency with a child. He was sentenced to four years of state-supervised probation; two misdemeanor convictions for indecent exposure, one in 1996 and another in 1997.
One is left to wonder just how quickly the courts will release him into society this time.

Some of you may have noticed that I've been using a new label on some posts recently, and you just may have begun to wonder just what is going on.
So, I figured I'd take a quick moment to explain.
The new label, AMW, stands for America's Most Wanted: America Fights Back, and it Will be displayed on posts that refer to a story being covered by America's Most Wanted.
As part of the "new feature" I'll also be bringing you cases early in the week, that will be profiled on the following show, which airs at 9 o'clock on Saturdays on the Fox network.
I'm hoping that this new feature will be something that you all enjoy, because I hope that it will be something I can continue to bring to you for a long time to come.
Now that we've covered that, I'd like to share with you a few of the cases that will be aired this week on AMW:
Jesus Armando Dominguez is a former priest who had used his position to molested countless boys throughout the 1980's.
In '82 he was a priest at Our Lady of Soledad in Cochela California, and was able to befriend an alter boy. Dominguez groomed the 13 year old while taking him to movies, out to eat, and eventually gained the child's trust. After three months of actively befriending the young boy, Dominguez used his position to force the child into preforming sexual acts, and even molested him on many occasions in the church. Dominguez continued preying upon young boys after he was transferred to another church in 1987, where he molested more boys. Finally, in 2001 Dominguez was caught after soliciting a 15 year old whom he attempted to get to take nude photos, however he was only convicted of a misdemeanor, received probation and ordered to register as a sexual offender. Since then, Dominguez has disappeared, and four other victims have come forward with charges that they were abused by him. He is currently wanted on 58 charges of molestation.
For more information on this case, please see AMW: Jesus Armando Dominguez.

allegedBaytown rapist who police say has been stalking and sexually attacking multiple men in Texas, which I spoke to you about before, seems to be facing more charges, and even more are expected in the unusual case.
Prosecutors have charged Keith Chester Hill with six total charges involving the sexual assaults of young men in the Baytown area. He is charged with three counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of aggravated kidnapping and one count of sexual assault. These charges are from two of the five cases that Hill is facing.
There are three more cases the detectives are working on and everyone is expecting more charges to be filed. So far, authorities say that he has been very cooperative and has even confessed.
"He has given our detectives a confession in the cases that we have and he's given them some details about the incidents," said Lt. John Martin with the Harris County Sheriff's Department. "For example, he told our detectives that he had stalked some of these victims days prior to the attacks. Sometimes he would follow them in his vehicle and in one of the cases, he told our detectives he had entered the complainant's residence days before the attack."
Keith Chester Hill was arrested after DNA linked him to attacks on the victims, all of whom were men. News reports came out a few days ago that Hill had also posted photos of at least one victim on his Myspace, while detailing how he stalked and attacked him. He is currently being held on total bond of $600,000 in the Harris County jail.
What has set this case apart from most serial rapists, is that all the known victims are males, and that he didn't kill his victims. Police believe that he stalked his victims, and that his attacks were planned out, as Hill has admitted to being in the victims' homes prior to the attacks.
Due to the emotional disturbance that most male rape victims feel, there is reason to suspect that some victims have not yet come forward, and police say that the last known assault was in November of last year.
For a little background on male victims of rape, and they problems that they face:
Much has been written about the psychological trauma associated with the rape of female victims. While less research has been conducted about male rape victims, case research suggests that males also commonly experience many of the reactions that females experience. These reactions include: depression, anger, guilt, self-blame, sexual dysfunctions, flashbacks, and suicidal feelings (Isley, 1991). Other problems facing males include an increased sense of vulnerability, damaged self-image and emotional distancing (Mezey & King, 1989). Male rape victims not only have to confront unsympathetic attitudes if they choose to press charges, they also often hear unsupportive statements from their friends, family and acquaintances (Brochman, 1991). People will tend to fault the male victim instead of the rapist. Stephen Donaldson, president of Stop Prisoner Rape (a national education and advocacy group), says that the suppression of knowledge of male rape is so powerful and pervasive that criminals such as burglars and robbers sometimes rape their male victims as a sideline solely to prevent them from going to the police.
My sincere hope is that anyone who may have fell victim to this monster will reach out and make a report to the police, and if for any reason they feel unable to do that- then I hope that they at least seek out someone who can help them get through this traumatic crime.
Why it is that 10 days after Timothy Byars was indicted on four counts of rape by the Knox County Grand Jury, police had to return to him home and arrest him, this time for the sexual abuse of his first victims sister?
I mean, I know that it takes time to investigate, and therefore there are likely to be delays between indictments, so that's not what the confusion is about. My question is why this monster was at home- rather than in jail when the second arrest was made.
I hate bail.
Just weeks ago, I was enjoying the usually warm weather here in Ohio. People everywhere were talking about Global Warming, an I kept thinking "if this is global warming, bring it on".
Well, after freezing last week, and watching the storm coming this week on the news, I have to ask- WHAT HAPPENED?
Monday, February 12, 2007
Jury selection in Miami has begun for John Couey- the man accused of kidnapping, raping and killing nine year old Jessica Lunsford.
I know, a jury should be unbiased. It should consist of people willing to hear all of the evidence, able to listen intently to both sides of the case, and then come to a reasonable, and legally binding decision of guilt or innocence based upon the facts presented, and the evidence shown. I know this, I expect this, I want this...
And yet- all I really care about is the ability of these 12 jurors to quickly agree upon giving him a sentence of death, the speediness of the courts to hear all of his appeals, and finally- I hope his last few moments on earth are painfully unforgiving.
A few months back, I was out shopping with the little ones, and we were just leaving the store when I saw to older gentlemen standing off to the side of the exit. There was a small table beside them, and on the table there was a bucket filled with little fake flowers. I took the few dollars left over from shopping, and dropped them into the kids' hands, leading them towards the smiling men- noticing just how much like my grandfather they both looked, which made me smile in return.
My kids, recalling the times I've refused to buy anything from sidewalk salesmen (or saleskids), were a little taken by my sudden willingness to buy a few silly flowers, but I quickly assured them that we hadn't bought anything, we were just saying thank you. I told them that those two men, who had gently traded them the flowers for the dollars- had once been soldiers, and that they had once fought for our lives. I explained that they had served our country, in a way that only a true hero could- and that because of their service, we owned them our respect, and our thanks.
I like to believe that regardless of what war we may or may not support, regardless of what direction we face politically- that we all are willing to acknowledge the heroic efforts of all of America's soldier- both present and past. I believe that it is our duty to teach our children to have that same respect- to remind them of who willingly served to protect each of us, who bravely fought for our future. It saddens me to know that not only are some unwilling to teach their children that respect that our military personal is due, but there are some that would even disgrace us all by shamelessly violating something as sacred as a memorial to those who fought- by stealing invaluable items from the U.S.S. Yorktown, a World War II aircraft carrier.
The historic Yorktown also houses the Medal of Honor Museum, and is home to the headquarters of the Congressional Medal of Honor Society.
Inside the museum are several display cases featuring Medals of Honor awarded to recipients from all five branches of military service. These are priceless honors, and educating people about them is a duty which the CMOH considers sacred.
The CMOH society's membership includes Americans of all races and from all walks of society. The following excerpt from the Society's web site explains why members and supporters of this unique institution consider their mission so important:
"No amount of money, power or influence can buy one's rite of passage to this exclusive circle, and unlike almost any other organization, this group's members hope that there will be NO MORE INDUCTEES. Beyond this attitude towards recruitment, about all they have in common is a passionate love for the United States of America and the distinct honor of wearing our Nation's highest award for military valor, The Medal of Honor."
On the morning of June 27, 2004 a cleaning crew discovered that someone had violated the sanctity of the CMOH's museum, and smashed the glass in one of the cases. Missing were seven invaluable Medals of Honor, dating as far back as the Civil War and stretching through the Boxer Rebellion, World War II, and Vietnam. Also gone were a hat and jacket worn by Adm. William "Bull" Halsey during his WWII campaign in the Pacific.
This week, America's Most Wanted is profiling this disgraceful crime, and hoping that anyone with information will come forward. For more information, and a written preview of the episode, please see: AMW- Congressional Medals Of Honor Stolen
Regardless of your personal feeling about any war- the men and women who have sacrificed their time, and in many cases their lives in order to serve this country deserve to have the respect of the American people, and they deserve to have their medals returned to their proper place. What better way to tell them thanks, then supporting the effort to find those responsible for this crime brought to justice?
Crime Scene Blog has been actively tracking the details of a serial rapist in Northern California who police believe is responsible for stalking and raping at least 9 women over the past 15 years, and have dubbed the NorCal Rapist. CSB has done a wonderful job of profiling this monster:
The perpetrator has practiced these attacks and honed his abilities for many years. These are not the only victims. The level of planning and care taken to make sure they are alone and he won’t be interrupted indicate he is patient. He ensures success by watching them for as long as he feels is necessary in order to gain knowledge of their routine. The attacker also does not seem to be nervous during the assault, choosing to talk calmly with the victim.
In these cases, the rapist is acting out a fantasy. He believes there is some attraction between these women and himself. He may even believe that they secretly want him to “take them” or that they will enjoy it in some way. This is of course not true, but in his fantasy-driven mind, he may well believe he loves these women and they are attracted to him as well.
There is currently a $10,000 reward for information leading to this sick monster who has tormented women by his brutal attacks. He is believed to be white, in his mid-30s to mid-40s, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall, and weighing 200 to 250 pounds. He has light brown, spiked hair.

... it's about kids. However, I'm willing to admit- I lean towards the right more than the left, because I imagine that my policital beliefs are bound to be questions, that's okay though.
Eight months ago, I mentioned to you that self admitted pedophile Lindsay Ashford was starting to gear up a little early for the '08 bid for the election. He'd already composed his list of White House hopefuls, and was looking over the qualifications to see just which hopeful he'd be most supportive of. The problem with this was that he was using the daughters, and granddaughters of his list of hopefuls, and his sexual attraction for each child as a measuring stick to determine who he'd be happiest to see win.
At that time, I also shared that because he was displaying actual photos of the children, and because of the context of his post, I had attempted to use it to draw attention to this online predator to our members of congress. I called office after office, explaining in detail the issue, and providing the url of the post.
Most were shocked to hear what I was telling, some didn't even hesitate to load the page, just because it seemed so impossible that someone would actually do this. Security at Capital Hill was contacted.
Now, remember that not even a month later, the John Walsh Child Protection Act was signed into law. It was a big to-do. An entire high profile display of just how important the safety of our children is to Capital Hill. So, with that in mind- what do you think came of the knowledge so many people have of Lindsay Ashford? What do you think was done to protect the innocent children splashed across his website just because he's a sick freak, and because their relatives are political leaders? Nothing.
You'll be voting in '08, for a group of people who want you to believe that by signing their names to laws, by voting in support of them, they are interested in protecting your children... when in truth- they can't even protect their own.
That day I called and complained about this sickening post by a pedophile- I also ran a post explaining to readers that ONE member of Congress had an employee that stated they weren't concerned with this, that they had no comment, and no plans to do anything. His comments were in my first post (linked at the top) did nothing but encourage the pedophiles. However, it wasn't long afterwards that I received this:
from Vietor, Tommy (Obama) to Lilo
date Mon, Jun 26, 2006 at 6:31 PM subject RE: photos mailed-by obama.senate.gov
I just wanted to give you an update on the pictures you called about earlier.
Senator Obama's daughters are private citizens and our hope is that they will be treated as such, and I must admit it was more than a little disturbing to see them displayed in that fashion. My concern with commenting further on this matter is that a reaction from me would somehow encourage further discussion of the girls on that person's website, which is the last thing anyone wants.
If there are any further updates on this, though, I would greatly appreciate it if you'd pass them along to me. Meanwhile, I can promise you that Senator Obama will continue to work in the U.S. Senate to strengthen laws that put child predators behind bars.
That Senator is running for President, and while I was assured that he was working to make laws stronger to protect our kids... I have to wonder why his children are still featured on a pedophile's website, a site that is directly related to one intended to help pedophile entrap young girls into illegal sexual relationships.

Late last month, I shared that the man authorities believed to be one of the most prolific serial child molesters in the US was sentenced to 150 years in prison. This week, his roommate Frederick Everts- whose arrest actually lead to Dean Schwartzmiller's arrest- received his own long term sentence for the molestation of three underage boys. If the two of them happen to out live their sentences, Everts will require Schwartzmiller to hang around waiting for Everts for an extra 650 years- as Everts was sentenced to 800 years.
Frederick Everts, convicted of molesting several San Jose children despite his protestation that he was legally insane at the time, was sentenced this morning to 800 years in prison.
Everts, 36, will likely appeal his conviction. A year ago, he was convicted on 15 child molestation counts; among his victims was a 3-year-old. He was also convicted on three other charges related to child porn.
Last month, his request for a new sanity hearing was denied by Superior Court Judge Alfonso Fernandez, who handed down the sentence today in San Jose.
Everts had claimed he was denied the opportunity to present a mental health expert who might have testified that Everts was insane.
According to interviews with therapists referred to in court, Everts was diagnosed as a sexual sadomasochist. ``I can't imagine with my compulsion that any amount of therapy would stop me,'' he told a probation worker in an interview.
Disney may be famous for telling children's tales that always have a happy ending, and Belle may have been charming and beautiful enough to tame the Beast in their version of the fairytale- but it seems the real life version isn't as child friendly:
Matthew Wendland, 20, of Orlando, was arrested early Friday morning after his roommates tipped off authorities, according to FOX affiliate WOFL. He is charged with 51 counts of possessing material that depicts a child in sexual performance and is scheduled to be arraigned Friday.
Sgt. Richard Mankewich of the Orange County Sheriff's Department said authorities are questioning Wendland about any possible inappropriate contact he might have had with children at the theme parks, WOFL reported. But officials have no evidence he has done anything directly to hurt children.
Mankewich said police they found evidence — at least 50 images of child pornography — inside a suitcase in Wendland's apartment.
Another local news station, WKMG, reported that authorities picked up Wendland at his work at Disney, where he was dressed as the Beast. Officers then went to his home. Mankewich told WKMG that the pictures are "extremely disturbing."
Other news on this case, with photo of sick beast, who by the way, also played Goofy.

We send our children off to school, imagining that they will be as safe there as they are in our homes. We expect that. But deep down we know that we don't always get that. Sometimes, it just seems that our children are in the biggest amount of danger when they are at school. We have to worry about the class bully, the teacher who may be looking to make national headlines by having a relationship with a student. All sorts of things. And recently, we've had to look closely at a new threat.
A while back I told you about the sex offender posing as a 12 year old student. And, I told you about the rape of a boy by an unknown attacker in the boys school restroom.
Well, thanks to Loadbroker, we now have Kyle Lamone. Lamone is a registered sex offender, charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon on school grounds and impersonating a police officer. Yes, impersonating an officer, and carrying a weapon- which turned out to be a 6-inch folding knife.
Police say he walked into a middle school, carrying the knife and dressed as a school officer. He was able to enter the school without signing in as a visitor in the office. Lamone then proceeded to a classroom, when students were leaving for the day. The excuse is that he was attempting to see a teacher. I'm not personally sure that I'm buying that excuse- I mean, I've went to see different teachers at schools a lot- and never once did it require me to carry a knife, or dress up as a member of law enforcement.
What's more troubling is that Lamone has visited the school more than one time, and school employees seemed to only learn of his past after another recent visit. They say this is the first time he has carried any sort of weapon... I'd personally like them to prove that.
Here's Lamone's Myspace account, which is set to private. CaptJesus_666 is his display name. And here is MSNBC's take on the story, complete with photo of him being arrested.
At one time, Bessie and Mechelle Saffold were so admired for the care they provided to their foster children, they were named Foster Parents of The Year. However, recent headlines leave one wondering if perhaps they were actually just better at pretending to be good parents than actually being good parents.
Marion County Prosecutor Carl Brizzi filed charges of felony neglect and battery against the two, after discovering the horrific abuse of their five adopted children.
"One of the girls says she was hit on the forehead with a metal rod, which caused a scar. Another boy said he'd been pushed down the stairs, punched in the face and had been whipped with extension cords," said Helen Marchal, Marion County Prosecutor's office.
But the worst case, prosecutors say, involved the youngest boy, so badly burned on his feet and legs, he could barely walk.
According to the probable cause, while Bessie Saffold's children were getting ready for school, she noticed her seven-year-old boy had wet the bed. Prosecutors say to punish him, she put him in a bathtub of scalding hot water.
"We believe that the temperature of the water could have been as high as 135 degrees," said Marchal.
"The child was placed in there at least by his ankles and then was told to sit in the water," said Det. Gehring.

Let's face it, there are some crimes that you'd only be aware of if you were a true crime buff, and then there are the crimes that you know even if you aren't.
One of those crimes was responsible for one of the most beloved shows ever aired- America's Most Wanted. Everyone seems to know the story behind it- the passion and pain that drove a father to become America's most outspoken advocate of victims of crime everywhere.
In 1981 6-year-old Adam Walsh vanished from a Sears store in Florida. A massive search for the young boy began, and six days later he was found dismembered and dumped in a drainage canal.
Everyone knows the case. Everyone remembers the fear it invoked into parents everywhere- and everyone knows how his father John Walsh's pursuit of justice turned him into the great leader in hunting down criminals that he is today.
There is another side to the story that not everyone knows, involving a man who shocked the nation as his crimes unfolded before us. While some out there would like to say that this is the side of the story that we don't know because people have attempted to hush it... it's actually the unspoken side because it has no credibility to it at all.
A Miami author is making the case that (Jeffery) Dahmer may be responsible for the (Adam)Walsh slaying.- Source
Now, author Arthur Jay Harris has made his presumptions on this case, attempted to tie two of America's most famous cases together in a ploy to gather media attention- but few seem to really be buying into it. In fact America's Most Wanted has issued a statement regarding this, and it's worth the time to read it.
America's Most Wanted has issued the following statement regarding reports on the possibility of a connection between notorious convicted killer Jeffrey Dahmer and the murder of Adam Walsh:
"Despite news stories prompted by the publication of a recent article in a Florida newspaper, America's Most Wanted is aware of no credible information connecting Jeffrey Dahmer to the murder of Adam Walsh, the son of AMW's host, John Walsh.
AMW producers and investigators have been aware of rumors of such a connection for years. Several investigations have already discounted this theory. According to the police in Hollywood, Florida, where the abduction of Adam Walsh took place, a potential Dahmer connection was first investigated in 1991, and nothing was found to validate the story. Then, two years ago, when writer Arthur Harris approached the Hollywood Police Department with his theories, a detective was assigned full-time to reinvestigate the Dahmer leads and any new information provided by Harris. According to investigators, they found Harris' claims to be totally unsubstantiated.
Please take a moment to click over and read the entire statement, and hopefully with the support of sensible people- we can prevent any future attempts to gain notability simply by throwing unrealistic conspiracies together, as they neither solve the case, or help those who have suffered these tragic losses.
It's once again time for the Carnival of True Crime Blogs, and I'm lucky enough to have been asked to fill in JD as he deals with computer problems. So, sit down and prepare to see what the best crime blogs have been talking about over the last week:
Home Sweet Home takes a deeper look at couple who give a new meaning to the term "in a family way"...
Kevin Elmarr and Carol Murphy were second cousins and both were still teens when she allegedly became pregnant by Elarr at a family picnic. The two ran away together and were married shortly after their daughter was born in 1977. A son followed in 1979.
As a couple, they had problems. She allegedly had an affair with his brother-in-law.
Crime Scene Blog is pondering over a Case of Contradictions
How is it that on April 24, 2005, police arrived at the house and found Ben Odierno kneeling over his wife, who lay dieing from more than 40 stab wounds?
That is the question before jurors in New York as they hear testimony in the murder trial of Ben Odierno who stands accused of murdering his wife. Defense lawyers claim that he only killed Christine in self defense after she attacked him with a knife.
So how did a couple, seemingly so happy and in love, find themselves in a death struggle on the floor of their home?
The answer to that reveals a tale full of contradictions.
Newcomer MamaRant has the rundown of adult/minor sexual relationships making headlines lately:
Darcie Esson, 32, was arrested and charged with sexual assault on a child for having sex with a 17-year-old male student on the floor of her Glenwood Springs hotel room. The incident took place while her two children and their 17-year-old babysitter slept on beds in the same room, an arrest affidavit stated.
Jay of Parents Behaving Badly has the story of yet another parent doing the unthinkable- murdering their own child.
In Princeton, W.Va., Ronald Holcomb, a federal prison guard was charged with the first-degree murder in the death of his five-year-old daughter, Brooklyn Halcomb.Harding of TO Crime brings us the case of missing Canadian Jessie Foster
Sergeant Detective Poe says this is one of the worst cases of child abuse he has seen in his 21 years on the force. Poe would not comment on the details of the abuse or how long it has been going on.
There have been reports that a hammer was used to beat Brooklyn, but there has been no official report on this. An autopsy will be performed to determine the actual cause of her death.
This is Jessie Foster, a Calgary woman who went to Las Vegas and never came back. She’s been missing for about a year, having last contacted her family in March of 2006. The 21-year old has not been seen or heard from by anyone since. Her bank accounts and credit card have shown no activity. Her regular calls to family members have ceased altogether.
My Life of Crime, which is now recalled Bonnie's Blog of Crime tells a story of a parent involved in the murder of her children:
Jennifer Kukla told one of her sisters as the sister called 911 to report that Jennifer had stabbed her children to death. Not an easy call to make, especially when you could have been a victim yourself, as Jennifer wanted her to stay when she was there the day before. The 911 call is heartbreaking.
The True Crime Blogroll has another interview of a member for you, and this time it's me.
Today our blogger interview is with Lost In Lima Ohio, fondly known as LiLO. A passionate blogger with a wicked sense of humor, she is devoted to bringing attention to crimes against children. So without further ado, here is the interview with LiLO.
Trench of the TrenchCoat Chronicals brings us a troubling story of a family's pain.
Lesli Catsouras hasn't opened her e-mails in weeks.
Her husband, Christos, dreads having to use the Internet – fearful of what he accidentally may see.
They have banned their daughters – ages 15, 13 and 8 – from going online.
Losing oldest daughter Nikki, 18, in a car crash on Halloween has been hard enough on the Catsouras family.
Now, their heartache is compounded by outrage.
The Year 'Round shared the story of Henry Wainwright, and a secret worth hiding.
On the surface, Henry Wainwright was a respectable, hard-working, likeable man of the comfortable Victorian bourgeoisie. He had inherited his father's brush-making business at 84 Whitechapel Road, London, was a temperence lecturer, and he lived with his wife and four children in an upscale house in Tredegar Square. But despite his personal and financial success, Henry also owned a questionable character and a secret -- a secret buried under the floorboards of a warehouse which would ultimately lead him to the gallows.
TCB's very own Laura James seems to be making news with Father Robinson:
For Father Robinson's Persistent Cadre
Last week, I sat down for an interview with NBC 24 in Toledo's anchorman, Jim Blue, Emmy-award winning journalist, voted by his peers the Best Anchorman in Ohio last year. Mr. Blue and his news team are preparing a one-hour special for broadcast later this week on Father Robinson's case. I was asked questions about the possibility that Coral Eugene Watts, the Detroit serial killer named as a suspect in the case in 1982, may have committed this murder. I was also asked questions about the mystery male DNA found on the victim. A date for the special has not yet been announced.
The guys at Crime Rant bring us a moment of star gazing, or staring in disbelief:
We love a good celebrity mugshot, of course.
So here’s this week’s main event: Ryan O’Neal, 65, was arrested on charges of assaulting his son Griffin, 42, at the actor’s Malibu home over the weekend.
Forget gazing at the stars with Steve Huff, as he's busy looking into those who would be traveling to the stars :
Lisa Marie Nowak, a 43-year-old astronaut and married mother of 3, drove nearly a thousand miles from Texas to Florida to meet the 1 a.m. flight of a woman she apparently viewed as a romantic rival.
Missing and Murdered Children tells us about the abuse of a child:
According to a report filed by Lynn Hayes-Freeland of kdka.com Nya’s father, twenty-three-year-old William Page, was charged today with Sexual Assault of a Minor, Indecent Assault, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Corruption of a Minor. None of the charges are related to Nya. [Video]
Twenty-three-month-old Nya was discovered in an abandonded playground a few blocks from her home late yesterday afternoon after a search for her started on Saturday morning. The coroner has ruled her death a homicide and has ruled she died from hypothermia and exposure. When found she was wearing the sweater she was reportedly last seen wearing and nothing else.
News of Doom by Trench informs crime buffs of the end of times for one of the most well known Crime News Sources:
It used to be that if you wanted links to the latest breaking crime news there was only one place to go and that was CrimeNews 2000. It provided links to all the hot crime stories and some that you may not have heard of without them. Recently CN2000 announced that they would no longer be posting crime news links on their pages. While it is truly sad to see a great resource like that go I’d like to let true crime readers know that there is an alternative for your crime news needs. For the past few months Steve Huff and myself have been running a user submitted crime news site called, oddly enough, Crime News. If you’re familiar with sites like Digg, Reddit, or Netscape than you’ll feel right at home at Crime News. How it works is a user submits a story into the queue. If enough users like the story by voting for it, it eventually is promoted to the front page. My goal is to hopefully fill some of the void left by CrimeNews2000.

I would have posted this yesterday, but I was taking a break to watch a Movie- Night at the Museum and celebrating the last birthday I'll ever have which will actually make me a year older. Every birthday hereafter will be celebrated with me remaining the same age as I am today.
Anyway, a while back crime blogging buddy Trench started CrimeNe.ws For those of you who know Digg, it's a lot like that- only dedicated to stories involving crime. For those that don't- imagine it as being a community blog, where the readers get to submit the stories, and then vote on which ones make it to the front page. You may comment on the cases posted, sharing your personal thoughts with other members.
While all of the crime bloggers highly enjoy your thoughts on the cases that we cover- those cases are ones we have been touched by, or that have stuck out in our minds as ones needing more attention. CrimeNe.ws on the other hand- gives you the chance to let us know which cases you are most drawn too, which ones you feel are in need of the attention. And, because most of the crime bloggers within the True Crime Blogroll are members of CrimeNe.ws- we'll be able to pick up the stories that you submit, and get a better idea of what you'd like to see. It is the perfect tool for you to reach not just one crime blogger- but all of us. And, as a community- it provides the chance to interact with others who, like you, are interested in current, and past, crimes.
And, best of all, it provides you with a place to remain up to date on what's been going on in crime- even if your favorite crime blogger fails to make it to the computer in time to share it.
Now, I'd be silly not to mention this- while I already have your attention. If you look at the footer of each of my posts- you'll see a link to "Submit to CrimeNe.ws". This gives you the chance (if you are a member of CrimeNe.ws) to submit any post from here, to there, in a simple step. And, there's chance that you might be seeing this link pop up in the other crime blogs too- so keep an eye out for it.

What does Boylove (you know, the sexual exploitation of underage boys by pedophiles) have to do with some of your favorite grocery products? Well, evidently more than one would like.
Amazon.com is offering a pedophile book: Viamund the Boylove Vampyre Says...: Poetry & Haiku's (Paperback)by Octaevius Altair, for sale on it's website. And, interestingly it seems that while Amazon is claiming freedom of expression, and their need to provide a voice to different authors of all backgrounds as it's reason for offering the book... the companies in the following Amazon ad just want to get exposure for their products, even if it means doing on a site that is openly promoting pedophilia propaganda.

Save today with instant rebates on your favorite brands--Kraft, Maxwell House, Post, and more than 20 more. Offers valid through February 28.
Yes, that's right folks, these companies are paying Amazon to show their ads, and therefore are directly encouraging Amazon's choice to sell this book.
Thankfully, we don't drink Maxwell House in THIS house, because I buy the coffee around here. And, although I've always liked Post, I'm sure that I can find another brand of cereal for the kids breakfast. Kraft might be a little more difficult to replace, but if they are willing to pay Amazon to run ads on product pages that encourage the sexual exploitation of children- I'm not willing to feed my family their products.
Now, in all fairness, it could be that Amazon isn't really aware of the subject matter of this
It could be that they aren't aware... but they are. We know that they are aware of the subject and content, because they were contacted about it. Sadly, it seems that they just don't care.
In fact their response to a fellow blogger who contacted them was firmly supportive of the keeping this filth available, from Gawfer:
Thank you for writing to Amazon.com.As a retailer, our goal is to provide customers with the broadest selection possible so they can find, discover, and buy any item they might be seeking. That selection includes some items which many people may find objectionable. Therefore, the items offered on our web site represent a wide spectrum of opinions on a variety of topics.Amazon.com believes it is censorship not to display certain articles because we believe their message is objectionable.
There is more to the response, so please head over to read the full thing. I'm sure you will be just as shocked as I was.
Now, in fairness, before I ask you to blindly make prompt decisions about this problem- you need to know just what sort of issue we are dealing with. For this, I'll need you to read a little about the this propaganda, as discovered out by AZ:
Not surprising at all is the fact that Viamund had a very difficult time finding a publisher. CafePress, Lulu.com, PABD, iUniverse all refused him. His British contact agreed with Lulu that the material was illegal. The ACLU refused to take his case stating they cannot MAKE someone print your book if they don't wish to. Picture Postage in Canada refused to produce his postage stamps claiming his image was inappropriate on a stamp. Some of the responses he received were:
- marketing products that may promote indecent relationships between adults and
minors is strictly prohibited
- If you do not agree with the rules outlined in the agreement then we suggest you
find another means to publish your book
- the material is ILLEGAL and a threat to the American public
Here are some of the people who have responded to our complaints swiftly and are refusing to sell this book:
* Barnes & Noble
And this is who hasn't: Alibris and Amazon.
Please read the entire post by AZ, as it is important that we hold these companies which would endorse the sexual exploitation of children, in order to line their own pockets; just how we feel about this.
And, until Amazon, Kraft, Post and Maxwell House are willing to stop endorsing this book by selling it, or by supporting the company which is selling it- please take a moment and let them know just where you stand on pedophilia propaganda being openly advertised and sold.
Big H/T toKate for mentioning this.
UPDATE: Here is the response from Amazon.com to me:
