Cashman's excuse....

Judge Edward Cashman
it leaves me wanting.
His whole reasoning seems to only stem from the fact that he wanted to get Hulett into a sex offender treatment program, although the rules remain the same whether he would have given Hulett Fifty years, or 60 days- either way Hulett would not receive treatment until after his release. It's like forcing an drug addict into treatment- it will do no good if the the person is not there willingly of their own accord. Hulett had years of raping an innocent child to "see the light" and seek help- yet he did not. What makes one think that forcing him, or anyone into treatment is going to work now? You can lead a horse to water, but you can not make him drink.

I am in vermont and you don't know the whole story behind this and maybe if you did you would see it a little different. Why aren't you talking about the other guy that is in jail for having sex with this girl too? There is a lot not being said in the news.

At her age, it's not having sex- it's rape. I doubt I would see it any different, considering the age of this child is a large factor in this story, and the length of time it went on. However, you may feel more than free to send what ever info you have to me viw the contact link on the far right. I'm willing to look it over.

who is this vermonter that thinks that because MY NEICE was raped by another family friend that the situation is different? thats right, the victim is my niece, and thats right, there is another man facing charges for raping her...what are you saying? a ten year old can seduce 2 thirty something men? you have angered me more than any of the other publications have. at first i even sympathized with judge cashman but if u are going to bring other circumstances into account as if they make my little neice a slut than u have pissed me off...i care to hear the rest of your arguement, i mean, you ARE in vermont so you must know everything, right?

The Dylan's Law initiative has been filed in the state of Washington. When it becomes law, an adult having sex with a child age 13 or younger will get a mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possiblity of release. Among working people with children (who are the majority) I see no opposition to Dylan's Law. Once it becomes law in the state of Washington, other states will have to enact their own Dylan's Law to keep the child molesters from moving there. Eventuall, Dylan's Law will be the law of the land.

So is the first anon trying to use the classic grade-school defense of "Well he did it,too!" ?

Typical liberal BS.
Blame everyone but the guilty.
