but because of those who look on and do nothing.

Dangerous sex offender released from jail

If you live in Salem- you have yet another reason to find this day scary. Somehow- I can't figure out how or better yet WHY- they've released yet another dangerous sex offender.

SALEM -- A man Polk County deputies say is a dangerous sex offender is back on the streets. Larry Lee Edwards was released from jail this morning. Edwards has a 20 year history of kidnapping and rape. He was first convicted of sodomizing two 9-year-old boys in 1985.
Since then, Edwards hasbeen in and out of jail for various violations of his sex offender treatment, includes looking at child pornography on a Salem library computer. Edwards was last picked up in may after he failed to register as a sex offender with the state.

Dan Riehl

I just finished up reading Dan's Crime Library Entry on a missing children's advocate from Portland. It's a good read, I've been waiting for it- and I can say I was not disappointed. Eagerly hoping that there is more coming from him soon- I can only suggest that you head on over to read it yourself. -Read it Now!

Spell Check

I don't believe for a moment that I am perfect, well at least not when it comes to spelling. I try to always use my spell check before I hit 'post', but I'll admit- sometimes I just don't. It's not really the spelling that I have issue with- it's my typing. I don't always watch my fingers and I happen to type fast- just not always well. But sometimes, just the plain stupidity of others gets to be more than I can handle. If it's bad spelling on it's own- I can get past it. But when it is bad spelling, bad grammar, and bad content- I feel more than annoyed by it.

This is really leading up to something. Something special. I found THE BLOG. It is by far the worse thing I have ever read in my life. And this time- I can say I feel that way for reasons other than the content. Which happens to be 'anti war' brainless chatter that evidently comes stumbling out of someones half baked mind without a care in the world to the spelling of- well basically any words.

I cringe at the thought- but this writer blogger person adds insult to injury by actually composing what he calls poetry- because evidently he can think of no better way to add to the destruction of the English language.

I can only give him suggestions. Spell check. Use it often. Please.

Lashuan Harris

I'm so completely appalled by this- I am lacking the words to express it. So rather than do that- here are some of the latest links to the horrifing story.

Oct 29th,

The Oakland woman accused of murder for allegedly throwing her three young sons into the bay suffered from schizophrenia "deepened'' by domestic violence, her attorney said Friday.

Lashuan Harris, 23, appeared briefly in a San Francisco courtroom at the arm of her attorney, Teresa Caffese, the chief deputy public defender. Caffese said after the hearing that her client was under psychiatric care at County Jail.

Harris is charged with three counts of murder and three counts of child abuse in the Oct. 19 deaths of Trayshaun Harris, 6, Taronta Greely Jr., 2, and 16-month-old Joshua Greely.

Md. Judge Got No Citation for Wreck He Caused

Maryland state troopers said in a report two months ago that Prince George's
County District Court Judge Richard A. Palumbo, the focus of controversy in
recent days for a decision in a domestic violence case and a voided traffic
ticket, caused a two-vehicle accident in Charles County. But they did not issue
a citation to him.... Continue Reading

On Sept. 19, Palumbo dismissed a protective order that 31-year-old Yvette Cade had obtained against 33-year-old Roger Hargrave. She told the judge her husband was threatening her and her family, but Palumbo cut her off and advised her to go to divorce court before dropping the protective order. Yvette Cade was doused with gasoline and set on fire days later by Hargrave.

An attorney for Judge Richard Palumbo, who lifted the order, blamed it on a clerical error. But Chief Administrative Judge Thurman Rhodes said he believes Palumbo clearly dismissed the protective order during a hearing Sept. 19, according to a report in The Washington Post.

A website has been set up for Cade, here.

Blog Family Tree

So I was reading this blog, when I came upon this post:

"Who's your daddy????
With the Commissar working on a blogger family tree it had me wondering who is to blame for the mindless drivel y'all find here on a semi-regular basis. I've also had a couple of people who've asked me who got me started blogging."

Blogger family tree uh? Sounds interesting enough. So clicking over I found this:

"Update: over 575 Bloggers recorded.
I am making a family tree of the
Bloggers, please leave a comment noting: ...."

575 huh? Well I ought to be on that list. So I start thinking... la la la la la- just who would my blog parents be? I started back in May. Whose was I reading way back then? Planet Huff- no wait I found him while searching for information on Joseph Duncan and by then I was already "abloggin". I found Trench through Huff so that marks him out too. And then it hit me- it'd just have to be this guy. Yep, HE'S MY BLOG DADDY. I just wish I could find my mom now. It's answer alot of questions on who dad's been shackin up with.

I went to add my great heritage to the long list of families- when I spotted this comment, to which I could only make this comment. It's so nice to be claimed.

For anyone who has not yet rushed over to add their info- go do it now.

Mother Appears in Court; Supporters Rally

I can not get pat the line that reads "Supporters of the 23-year-old mother accused of throwing her three sons into San Francisco Bay" SUPPORTERS? Are you kidding me? Evidently more than one person is in need of serious medication in this case. Although I still hold out hope that her maedication comes in teh form of a death sentence. One can not strip little kids naked, throw them over into the water to their deaths and expect sympathy. After telling others that she was going to feed them to the sharks- I believe the others should be charged. This is sickening.

Mother Appears in Court; Supporters Rally - Yahoo! News

This is just not enough time

This is from my local paper. Justice was not served. 17 months. His own son.

OTTAWA — A man now living in Venedocia will spend the next 17 months in
prison after pleading guilty to two counts of attempted gross sexual imposition
with his son. Leonard O. Kroeger, 41, of 14765 Converse Roselm
Road, Venedocia, altered his plea Friday afternoon in Putnam County Common Pleas
Court to clear up a clerical error in the description of his crime. He pleaded
guilty to attempted sexual imposition on July 20, but he changed that plea to
two counts of attempted gross sexual imposition, a fourth-degree felony, on
Friday. After more than an hour of testimony from clinical and
forensic psychologist Dr. Thomas Hustak and two members of Kroeger’s family,
Judge Randall Basinger declined to sentence Kroeger to the community service
requested by his attorney, Gregory Novak. Instead, he gave Kroeger 17 months in
the Ohio Department of Correction and Rehabilitation for each count, to be
served at the same time. He must also register as a sexual
offender in the counties he works or lives in for the next 10 years.
“A parent should protect his children,” Basinger told Kroeger
during the sentencing. “The exact opposite happened here: A parent perpetrated
this felonious sexual assault.” Kroeger admitted his shame to
the actions with his son, who was 6 and 7 years old when the actions occurred.
He promised never to do them again. His attorney said Kroeger’s “sexual
confusion” played a factor in the actions, and Kroeger had since decided he was
a homosexual and should complete a dissolution from his wife next week.
“I love (my son) with all my heart, and I don’t know what harm
I’ve caused him,” Kroeger said. “I assure the court this will not ever happen
again, and it hasn’t happened in the six years since then.”
Hustak said his evaluations showed Kroeger wasn’t likely to
act as a sexual offender again, given the remorse he showed and a variety of
psychological factors. Kroeger’s case received additional
attention in April. He and a man he was living with in Allen County’s Amanda
Township moved out of a rented home on Cremean Road after receiving pressure
from neighbors. “He loves (his son) very much,” Novak said.
“He already suffered public humiliation, with the newspaper articles about this.
There was one on the bulletin board at his work. He was harassed by the Allen
County sheriff. … It’s been a difficult time for him.”

Duncan Videos Revisited

I'm relieved to say that prosecutors have not given up the fight to keep the videos made by Joseph Duncan which include graphic scenes of the children he kidnapped, from being copied and released. I do not believe that doing so would serve justice in anyway- and it has always been their position that the defense council may view the tapes at any time.

In truth there is just no good reason for releasing these tapes. I do not see how having an extra copy lying around would do anything by compromise the ability to safeguard what is on the tapes from being released into the public. And, that happening would be extremely horrifying.

"COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -- Videos allegedly made by Joseph Edward Duncan III
contain "vile, horrific, shocking" images of child pornography and should not be
duplicated and given to defense attorneys, Kootenai County Prosecutor Bill
Douglas says in new court filings. ....
...Douglas argued that the videos are not relevant or necessary for the
defense of Duncan in state court, since he has not been charged with any crimes
involving the children.
He said there's a risk of "unintentional, accidental
dissemination for commercial or noncommercial purposes" of the videos.
child victims of tender years were to later perceive that there is even a remote
chance that their images entered the public domain, the degree of their
re-victimization would be inestimable," Douglas wrote. ..."

Sex Offender Haunted House #2

I kept thinking that I had read this story. The plot was so familar to me. I had to have read it. But I didn't recall the SO getting arrested. Could it be an updated version? Then why didn't they just arrest him in the first place? Because this story- isn't this story.

Another sex offender running a "Haunted House". And this time in Ohio. And this time- he got arrested.

A registered sex offender has been arrested after neighbors complained
about a Halloween haunted house set up at his home.
Sixty-two-year-old Doug
Smith was arrested yesterday for violation of his probation.
Parents near
Smith's home, in Price Hill near Cincinnati, say they worried about Smith trying
to lure children into his home.
But Kelly Bolen, who lives with Smith, says
he helps set up for the party but stays away.
Bolen says residents of the
house were holding the party for years before Smith moved in.

With only a few days left, I'm urging you all to be extra cautious when it comes to your kids. For those that have not yet went out trick or treating- before you do, check your local sex offender databases. Supervise your children as if they are under threat of seriuos harm. Because they are.

Stop the ACLU Halloween Trackback Party, read all the great blogs, or add your own to the list.

Pierce gets 2-year prison term

Adel, Ia. — Former Iowa Hawkeye Pierre Pierce, who avoided a jail sentence
in 2002 after being accused of sexual assault and was given a second chance to
play big-time college basketball, was ordered to prison Friday for assaulting
and terrorizing a former girlfriend in January....
...Hulse rejected a defense appeal for a deferred judgment or suspended
sentence. He noted that Pierce had received no jail time after pleading guilty
in 2002 of assault causing injury in an alleged sexual assault case in Iowa
City.To allow a deferred judgment "would seriously depreciate the seriousness of
these offenses," Hulse said. "The defendant is in need of correctional
assistance, which can most effectively be provided by confinement." Continue

Breaking News Libby Indicted

Details were to be outlined at 2 p.m. ET, when Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald will hold a press conference at the Justice Department. The grand jury that handed up the indictment had been hearing the case for nearly two years and its term expires Friday.

Source: "Lewis 'Scooter' Libby, Vice President Dick Cheney's chief of staff, was indicted today by a grand jury on one count of obstruction of justice, two counts of making false statements and two counts of perjury in the CIA leak probe. The indictments are the first in a nearly two-year investigation into the public unmasking of an undercover CIA operative."

Rove advises that his status has not changed- still under investigation. Not yet charged. From NBC Special Report.

"A news release from special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald said Libby was indicted on one count of obstruction of justice and two counts each of perjury and making false statements.

The release said Libby allegedly lied "about how and when in 2003 he learned and subsequently disclosed to reporters then classified information concerning the employment of Valerie Wilson by the Central Intelligence Agency." (Posted 12:52 p.m.)"

Man Pleads Not Guilty To Raping Girl In Car While Brother Drove

Full Story Here and Here

Let me say this, people like this man should be locked up, for the rest of their lives.

Ashley Howley

I'm combining exerts from previous posts to make this one. It's not me just being lazy again. It's the desire to help out a woman that needs to have a voice in finding her daughter. I've said before why the disappearance of a complete stranger is such a personal story- and I'll say it again. It could have been any one of us. She was bright and beautiful, full of life with a world of dreams in front of her, out on her own and trying to make something of it.

Ashley Lyn Howley, young- in fact the same age as Julie at the time (20)-called police on June 16th of 2004 to report being assulted. Later on she was known t be packing her bags and heading to a friends house. Ashley never arrived at her planned designation. Doing a search for her name you'll find only traces of evidence that this disappearance happened.Much like Julie, Ashley was young, attractive, and she was 5'4 115 lbs light brown hair with blond highlights, brown eyes. She was last know to be at her residence... ...At one point someone reached out to inform police that Ashley had been killed- to date I can fond no information on anyone ever finding her. What I did find was a message posted on a message board from what must be a mother horrified at the notion that her beautiful daughter has not come home.

Anyone with information on EITHER girl, should at this point no longer be reading this but RUNNING to the phone and calling Columbus police. Anyone with information that could be shared to help solve these two tragic disappearances
can send info to be posted here.

Ashley Howley- attractive, charming young woman who at 20 had a lifetime of dreams still ahead of her, and a family left heartbroken over her disappearance. Her case has become very Ashlee Howley personal to me. Not because I know her- as I never had the chance to cross paths with her. Ashley was raised by her mother Jackie, and had lived in a few various places as her mother established a home for her young children. They moved around as her step father followed his career and Ashley was cherished as any child of any mother would be. She had decided to move out on her own and found her way back to Columbus Ohio, not far from where she had once lived in Reynoldsburg with her family. But all apparent indications she was a friendly and outgoing young girl, making close friends and meeting that special someone. However, how her story would eventually end was something no one ever saw coming. At 3:13 a.m. June 16, of last year Ashley made a phone call to police to report that she had been assulted, presumably at her apartment. She refused medical treatment and informed police that she was packing up to go stay with a friend. Ashley, the pretty brownish blond girl with an unforgettable smile- never arrived at her friends. Her sister and a friend visited Howley's apartment on June 23 and found her missing, but said her car was parked in the parking lot and her dog was barking inside the apartment. Howley's car was gone by the time police searched her apartment on July 9. It would not be until fathers day- when she failed to call home- that her family would realize something was truly wrong. Even then it would take until September for her mother to be permitted to enter the apartment Ashley had rented. A month after Howley vanished, the Pontiac was found abandoned several miles from her home. It was covered in debris and the glove box was empty.

Ashley Howley, was a bright and beautiful 20 year old, exploring the world on her own with family in Mich, and her in Columbus. She was last heard from in June of 2004 when she called police to report being assulted. She refused medical attention and was last known to be packing to go stay at a friends home. She never arrived. Her family has waited for news, hoping every day to get the call that will allow them to bring her home. Although her ex boyfriend is suspected by family in her disappearance- no arrests have been made.

On the 26th of this month, Joe Mammana was joined by Beth Holloway Twitty in Columbus to meet with families of missing people in Columbus and as a keynote speaker in annual Crime Stoppers breakfast. He has he has pledged $100,000 each, for several missing persons cases in central Ohio, including Julie Popovich, Anthony Luzio and Ashley Howley.

One thing that I would hope is that his presence, along with the reward will push someone enough to step forward with information regarding Ashley. No mother should ever have to sit and wonder where her daughter is.

Haunted Sex Offender

Trick or Treat. Haunted Houses. Candy and spooky outfits. It's what New Year's is for adults- neatly wrapped into a kids feast.
NJ is on track with issuing a curfew for their sex offenders- preventing them form being out, or opening doors to what could easily be their next victims. I take my kids. I can't imagine a parent letting any kid out alone in this day and age. But evidently it's not just the handing out candy part that sex offenders want to share in. Evidently they, or at least one sicko likes the haunted house part too.
Imagine, dark and scary. Monsters jumping out. A faint glow from a possessed pumpkin head. Blood dripping from the vampires fangs. A mummy slowly creeping up from behind. Cobwebs and spiders swaying close to your hair. The smell of a bonfire mixed with the musty smell of old decorations. Screams and shrieks of horror as the young ones make their way down the haunted corridor. Hazy reflections of something behind you in a broken mirror. Oh, and your local sex offender.

SEYMOUR, Ind. -- Police and child protection advocates say it is a bad idea
for a registered sex offender to live where his wife is operating a haunted
house that attracts children.
Ronald P. Cooley, 55, of Bobtown, has served
his time in jail, met his probation requirements and continues to register with
the state sex offender registry as required by law in connection with his 1995
conviction of child molesting.
The Coffins haunted house, owned and operated
by his wife, Becky Cooley, stresses in its fliers and Web site that parents are
not allowed to drop off children and that children are to be accompanied by a
parent or guardian at all times. Continue reading...

This is wrong on so many levels- I don't even know where to begin. No matter what you are going to have that slacker parent who thinks dropping off the 13 year old to watch the younger half dozen kids is just good enough. But I won't even get into that. Let's see. A sex offender. Just what is wrong with his wife? It's like giving a drug addict a job in a pharmacy. Irresponsible and just completely stupid. Something tells me this woman would be the first to blame the child when he reoffends- after all they made it known to neighbors that he was a sicko- what where those kids doing running around in mid July in their bathing suits? It's that kind of thinking that I imagine this moron having.
Moral of the story- you don't let sex offenders around children. It's that simple. And if you think it is okay- then you should be locked up. Okay, that last part isn't really a moral, just my own personal thoughts on it. BUT IT SHOULD BE A MORAL!

Another Sex Offender

We all thought he did it. Perhaps because lately there have just been so many of them that have done it. A registered sex offender. A missing child. A body found. There seems to always be some type of connection. Admittedly they aren't the only ones out there killing children. But lately- they are the first we turn to. And often, we are right. Too often. Too many murdered children. Too many sex offenders.

-- After a tearful conversation with his mother in jail, a sex offender accused
of killing 13-year-old Sarah Lunde and sinking her body in an abandoned fishing
pond admitted to authorities that he committed the crime, court documents said.
State attorney's office documents released Thursday in the case against
David Onstott also included autopsy results that show Sarah died from crushing
blows to the head, even though investigators earlier said Onstott had confessed
to strangling her.
The autopsy found that her killer fractured her skull and
broke her jaw before dumping her in an abandoned fishing pond near her home and
church in rural southeastern Hillsborough County in April.
Onstott, 37, who
had once dated Sarah's mother, has been indicted on charges of first-degree
murder and attempted sexual battery. He has pleaded not guilty and remains in
the county jail without bail awaiting trial.
In jail, Onstott wept as he
spoke with his mother, the records said. After speaking briefly with his
attorney by phone, he agreed to talk again with investigators.
Raising his
handcuffed arms in the air, he said, "I did it." And then, "I'm guilty of
murder," the records said.
Onstott was convicted of rape in 1995.
Prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty.

Mom Arrested After Baby Found Mauled By Dogs

This is a story that I really don't want to share, it angers me all the while breaking my heart at how someone could be so cold and callous. My only comment is that there is always a better way. Some may of thought of going to the hospital, others may have thought about calling someone- anyone for help. But the complete disregard this person showed is horrifing.

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio -- Investigators said the badly-mauled body of a newborn infant
was found Tuesday afternoon on the banks of the Ohio River. The next day, the
baby's 21-year-old mother was arrested after admitting to a hidden pregnancy.

The mother told investigators that the baby was still-born at home. She
said she panicked and disposed of the baby boy a few miles from her home, NBC
4's Erin Tate reported.

The investigation began after authorities
received a 911 call from a frantic mother.

Dispatcher: "911, what's your

Caller: "My kids were just outside, telling me that the dog
was chewing on something dead. And I walked out there to see what it was. It's a

The baby was found in the yard of a Scioto County home. The
resident, Steve Stiltner, found the dead newborn surrounded by dogs.

had a leaf over its face and she had realized when she walked around that it was
a human baby," Stiltner said.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty Donini
speculated that the baby had been eaten by dogs.

"Our coroner at the
scene wouldn't even commit to the race, sex or age of the child," he said.

The body was sent to the Montgomery County coroner's office in Dayton
for an autopsy. The autopsy revealed Wednesday that the baby was still-born.

"It's unfortunate that the baby was still-born, but in some
ways I'm thankful that that did occur, especially the way the body was disposed
of and what happened afterwards," Donini said.

Numerous tips led the
sheriff to arrest the baby's mother, Sarah Halcomb. She was charged with a
felony count of gross abuse of a corpse.

Officials said Halcomb
confessed and took detectives to the site where she had disposed of the infant.

"She panicked, hid the baby inside the house, then a couple of days
later, removed the baby and disposed of the baby," Donini said.

scene continues to disturb Stiltner and his children.

"I don't want to
live here anymore. I can't walk down my porch without looking over here and I
still see that baby laying here every time I look down," Stiltner said.

Halcomb also had bench warrants out for her arrest on eight other
charges, including forgery, theft, and receiving stolen property.

Poor Sex Offender

This one will pull at your heart. I'm just bleeding sympathy all over from it. Another sick little monkey wants us to feel bad because his status as a sex offender made life a bit too hard for him. Understandably, he eventually had to pick up and move because it was so very hard for him to live with that label. He had to go as far as Central America to be able to escape that whole bad labeling thing. Don't you just feel pity for him? I mean how dare we put a label on him for only "lewd and lascivious conduct with a 12-year-old girl."

Perhaps he should have considered that before committing the heinous acts. Or perhaps he should suck it up and realize that no matter what he has to deal with as a result- what the victim will continue to live with everyday is much worse. It's the scum life like this who want pity from the rest of us that really boils me the most. If I had my way- he'd be locked up for life.

Sex Offender found with victim

James Winburn, 36, of Lexington Ky, is accused of two counts of custodial interference and violating the state's sex offender act. He is already a registered sexual offender.

He was found with a 15-year-old girl who had been reported missing. The two were staying in a tent he pitched less than fifty yards from a swing set, at Fort Boonesboro State Park. Winburn was convicted in 1997 of first degree sexual abuse of a relative and sentenced to 5 years in prison.

Another Duncan Victim?

Reading this morning brought me to a story about a family in Montana of a man found dead near Devils Lake three years ago. They believe, and h ave asked the FBI to investigate- that their son may be yet another victim of Joseph E Duncan. He had been to Fargo just the day before his disappearence.

Russell Turcotte of Wolf Point, Mont., was 19 when he disappeared in July
2002. He called his mother from Grand Forks, and she promised to wire him money
so he could take the bus home. His body was found in a tree grove along U.S.
Highway 2 near Devils Lake the following November. His father, Bill Turcotte,
said his son had been in Fargo the day before he disappeared. He also said
Russell Turcotte appeared younger than his actual age.
"Russell did have a
real boyish appearance about him," Bill Turcotte said. "He was a young man, but
if you take a look at the last picture of him, he did appear to be a little
FBI Special Agent Brent Robbins declined to comment on the Turcotte
family's request, citing the ongoing investigation. Continue Reading

This is my weekly, do it on Thursday, anti ACLU post.

Let me set this up for you.
A few months back, a illegal Mexican alien in Hamilton Ohio, confronted and snatched a young girl off of her bike in front of his house. He took her into his home where he proceeded to rape her. He then drifted off to sleep long enough for this child to be able to escape. I told you of the incident before, on this post, but to shorten it up for this post- let me just say that evidence showed he not only came to MY town, but stayed for a small period of time. As far as I know, he's not come back- or been caught.

Right around the same time frame, illegal workers en-route to the job they illegally had, caused a crash which resulted in more than a few deaths. Again, in my area.

At some point our Sheriff, Dan Beck of Allen County decided he had had enough. He wanted to step up enforcement of laws pertaining to illegal immigrants. Notice I did not say just Mexican ones. I wrote about that here.

Now comes along the Ohio ACLU- who have dedicated most of their "In the News" page to slamming Beck. They said he is profiling, which is isn't- unless you call trying to take control of illegals in the area profiling. They admit that their claims against him are completely without evidence, and even manage to compare it to the treatment of Muslims after 911. How they jump on that bandwagon is beyond me.

My sheriff gained his office by way of election. I voted him in. My other half voted him in. The ACLU- they didn't vote him in, and I doubt the woman in the story below is even a registered voter in Allen County. Why she thinks her desire to pollute our county with illegals outweighs my desire to clean the area up- is again beyond me.

ACLU points finger at

Group says sheriff guilty of racial profiling

LIMA — After
the head of the American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio accused Sheriff Dan Beck
of racial profiling Tuesday, he fired back saying she had no evidence of such

“It’s interesting that a group of attorneys that are supposed to
represent civil liberties make serious accusations without the first thread of
truth. There’s no complaints. They’re on a witch hunt,” he said.
Chris Link,
the executive director for the ACLU of Ohio, sent out a written statement
Tuesday titled “ACLU calls for Beck to end race-based profiling.”
When asked if
she had proof of race-based profiling, Link said she did not but said she
worries there is something to all the concerns about which she has heard and
Beck said she has nothing and cannot find anything to show his
deputies have profiled anyone based on race. Beck said the bigger issue is that
Link and her agency are trying to put pressure on police agencies that address
the illegal immigration issue.
“She is trying to justify her existence and
the existence of the American Civil liberties Union,” he said.
Link, who has
not spoken to Beck, also said the sheriff and his agency have no business
getting involved in immigration law. She said there are plenty of federal
agencies to do that work.
“The federal government has failed to put another
man on the moon but I don’t consider it my responsibility to do that,” she said.
But Beck said federal agencies are not doing their job and are allowing the
problem to grow. As sheriff he has a job to uphold the law, which also includes
upholding laws pertaining to illegal immigrants, he said.
Link criticized
Beck for concentrating too much on the illegal immigration issue while there are
other issues she said he needs to address.
“By doing that, he is essentially
turning his back on another criminal element just because they are white and
that is poor police work,” she said.
Link also said she was concerned the
climate in the country following the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001,
fueling the fire and creating a larger audience for officials such as Beck. She
said Muslims were unfairly profiled following the attacks.
“We are deeply
concerned about these themes that are appearing. Do we have to be reminded that
we are all immigrants
,” she said.

As to the last comment by MS. Link. I am not an immigrant. I am a natural born citizen. As are my parents, and their parents and their parents. In fact on one side I can trace my roots to the Mayflower. But that is not the point. The point comes down to a single word. Illegal. Immigrants are welcomed with open arms in my area. As long as they are not illegal. And how dare someone expect me to be happy that my tax dollars carelessly tossed away on these illegals, while real Americans in this country can be denied the very thing these people are stealing.

I too am deeply concerned about the themes that are appearing. When a sheriff elected by a majority is practically told that the ACLU should be able to dictate what actions he takes- it's rather alarming. When he is told that he can not fight crime- because the ACLU believes that illegals should not be arrested- it's scary. And more over, when an illegal immigrant actually starts having more rights under the protect of the ACLU- which is suppose to be about "American Civil Liberties"- than I, an American Citizen do- it's extremely worrisome.

As for the concern that Beck is ignoring crimes just because the criminals are white- I can give you a list of those charged in Allen County to prove that not only does Beck go after white people, he does it on a regular basis.

It's time to step up ANd stop the ACLU, before the only ones in American left with any rights are illegal immigrants, sex offenders and terrorist.

Stop the ACLU.COM recently was able to get an interview with president of the Alliance Defense Fund, Alan Sears. It's very interesting, and informative. For more information, read on.

Sex Offender Daily

I just realized that I didn't post yesterday. I did write a post- but it was a draft until at least five minutes ago. So, here now I will bring you the latest in your daily sex offender news... please stand by:

curfew difficult for police

A state-imposed Halloween curfew on 2,200 paroled sex offenders has local
law enforcement officials wondering how they will enforce it.
some parents say that while the State Parole Board's mandate is a nice gesture,
they believe they're the ones who can best protect their children.
"How are
we going to enforce it if a kid goes to the door?" said Capt. Jeff Gural of the
Evesham police department. "If anything else, we'll make notification for our
patrols. They are aware of the sex offenders."
Alyssa Wilds, 33, of
Clementon, said she's stopped going door to door altogether and takes her two
young children to planned Halloween events or parties.
"They have a good
idea there, but it will be ineffective," said Wilds.
The New Jersey State
Parole Board sent a letter last week to the 2,200 sex offenders it supervises
informing them they must be indoors by 7 p.m. on Monday and are not allowed to
answer the door when trick-or-treaters knock. They also cannot attend parties
where there are children and cannot take any children, including their own, out
Edward Bray, the parole board's acting executive
director, did not return phone calls for comment Wednesday.
Bray told the
Associated Press on Tuesday that checks will be done by 60 parole officers in a
newly formed sex offender management unit as well as members of district
offices. Bray also said local police departments had been notified and were
asked to report violations.
New Jersey has about 11,000 individuals
registered as sex offenders under Megan's Law, said Sgt. Stephen Jones, of the
New Jersey State Police.
Under Megan's Law, sex offenders are placed in one
of three categories based on the offender's danger to the community and
likelihood of repeating the offense.
The law requires all released sex
offenders to register with police in the community they are moving into.
Additional requirements apply to offenders considered more likely to offend
Megan's Law was named after Megan Kanka, a 7-year-old Mercer County
girl who was raped and killed in 1994 by a sex offender who lived across from
her home.
While Camden has about 400 registered sex offenders, Police Chief
Edwin J. Figueroa said his department did not receive a notice from the state.
Figueroa could not recall a child abduction on Halloween since he joined the
department in 1973.
"The real dangers are crossing the streets wearing their
costumes and masks," said Figueroa. "With smaller children, I completely urge
all parents to accompany them out trick-or-treating."
Pennsauken police
Capt. Earl Griffin said this weekend will be busier than usual, but
Halloween-related incidents usually involve motor-vehicle accidents or kids
taking one another's candy. He said his department was not notified of the
"We don't have anything to do with it," said Griffin.
Weisenfeld, a spokesman for the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office, said
enforcement of the curfew would be up to parole offices and local law
Local parents said the curfew is a good idea if it can be
enforced, but law enforcement can not supplant parental supervision.
"If the
kids are young, parents and adults should go with them," said Ann-Marie Hensley,
38, of Burlington Township. "They should go out before it gets dark."
Miller of Evesham agreed.
"You stay with your kids when they go out to
trick-or-treat. You have to do that, it's that simple," said Miller.
National Center for Missing and Exploited Children said adults should accompany
children trick-or-treating. If an adult can not be there, children should go in
groups and understand they should never enter anyone's home or walk up to a
house that is not well-lighted.
The American Civil Liberties Union in New
Jersey declined to comment Wednesday. The Associated Press contributed to this

Sex abusers can expect more laws

DES MOINES -- Lawmakers vowed Wednesday to push for more restrictions on
where offenders convicted of sex crimes against children can live, rejecting
worries that those restrictions are driving people from their homes.
also called for more spending on law enforcement, as well as continuous
real-time monitoring of sex offenders after they are released.
One called for
the Legislature to review its classification of sex offenders to put more focus
on the worst criminals. Hard-liners vowed to use the issue to renew their call
for reinstatement of the death penalty.
"There is no tolerance in the public
for sexual offenders," said Rep. Lance Horbach, R-Tama, one of the leaders of a
task force named to review the state's sex abuse laws.
The Legislature last
spring toughened penalties for sex crimes against children -- lengthening
sentences and increasing post-prison supervision -- after the highly publicized
abduction and slaying of 10-year-old Jetseta Gage of Cedar
Wednesday's task force meeting made it clear that topic would be on
the agenda for next year's session as well.
The state currently prohibits sex
offenders whose victims were children from living within 2,000 feet of a school
or daycare center, but Sen. Keith Kreiman, D-Bloomfield, said there were
The law doesn't apply to new schools and daycare centers opened
after the law went on the books, Kreiman said. He also proposes banning sex
offenders "from loitering near schools and playgrounds."
Since the residency
restrictions took effect, many cities and counties have gone even further,
banning sex offenders from living near libraries, playgrounds, parks and
recreational trails.
Arguments that the residency restrictions have driven
sex offenders from their homes or left them with few places to live drew little
"Don't expect me to feel sorry for some sex offender who has to
move," said Rep. Jim Van Fossen, R-Davenport, a retired police officer.
Ryan, a lobbyist for the Iowa Civil Liberties Union, attended the meeting, but
refused to say anything.
The sole criticism of toughening the laws came from
Dave Spencer, of Elkhart, a convicted sex offender who said he spent five years
in prison for abusing a child, but turned his life around.
"These laws are
all about punishing offenders, and not making society better," he said.
Jeff Angelo, R-Creston, said some experts think sex offenders who target
children cannot be rehabilitated.
"We have to be able to limit their access
to children," he said, adding that he plans to push for debate on reinstating
the death penalty.

Molester, 71,
caught on run from Idaho

A 71-year-old sexual predator whose history of molesting children dates
back more than 30 years was captured this week in Colorado Springs. Clark G.
Gerwulf was arrested Tuesday by local FBI agents and Colorado Springs police
officers outside the Red Cross shelter on a federal warrant alleging unlawful
flight to avoid prosecution. Agent Dan Bradley said investigators got a tip that
Gerwulf might be in Colorado Springs, so on a hunch, they checked the downtown
shelter, near South Sierra Madre and Rio Grande streets. Gerwulf was arrested
without incident and was being held without bail Wednesday at the El Paso County
Criminal Justice Center. Gerwulf had been on the run from Idaho, where he had
lived since being released from prison and is suspected of sexually assaulting a
16-year-old boy. Officials in Nez Perce County, Idaho, are seeking his
extradition from Colorado. Gerwulf has lengthy criminal histories in Colorado,
Kansas and California. He was sentenced in 1978 to life in prison in California
for molesting a child. Continue

Because I can- so there

I was mindlessly sitting here doing nothing but reading my ever growing blogroll- by the way did you notice the new blogroll for STOP THE ACLU? It's way over there ---> and the bottom- and decided to check out my email. Because that's where your comments wind up. And I like comments. Although I don't response on here, because then those go to my email and I don't normally wanna read what I have written. HA! No seriously, I save the commenting for ya'll. It's my gift. Love it. Cherish it, and remember that I may delete it. But most likely not.

Where was I? Oh, so my inbox takes me to this post. And although I don't usually do the whole link thing JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE COMMENTS, I sometimes do, if they don't come off as some nutcase. She didn't come off as a nutcase. And actually has a rather nice blog- you can even change the themes to it. I favor the neuron- but you are welcome to hop over and pick your favorite. It's an interesting site, a bit of everything which includes all the "Proud American" banners you'd ever need. And she seems to be Anti Kerry, which always is nice. So do your hopping.

VISIT HER HERE, and no I do not know what a pettifog is.

While I am at this, Tina over at Randomized Drivel has some nice posts up, well not *nice* but very well written. She seems to have my sort of "what the hell is wrong with these people" additude. So go say hi to her too.

What really makes me happy, joyfull, gleeful (is that a word?) Is when someone I am a big fan of but not yet gathered up the muster to comment on their blog adds me to their links. I was rather taken back when one of my favorite female bloggers posted a post that indicated they where taking time off. I have this whole habit of becoming addicted to certain blogs- visiting them many many times a day, so the thought of having one less was putting serious stress on me. It's to the point that my blogroll updates HOURLY so I can keep on track of who's writing is fresh. My point is that I was linked by this person, and much much much better than that is that evidently they are writing, at least a little. This was one of the first female written blogs I started to read, and the first to hit my daily haunting list. There's really more than one woman writing on it, which is even greater. Anyway, I am just glad she's back, you may now join me in a little "happy happy happy" dance.

Not to leaving out male bloggers- STOP THE ACLU is ran by a man. GO THERE!

Most likely I should spell check this BEFORE I post it, because I am not really paying attention to the keys my fingers are hitting- but I am not going to. So there.

BBC - Science & Nature - Sex ID

I try not to make anyone take polls- but I took it so you can too.

This task tested your ability to identify the angle of a line by matching it with its twin. This is a spatial task, which looks at how you picture space.

Your score: 17 out of 20
Average score for men: 15.1 out of 20
Average score for women: 13.3 out of 20

What does your result suggest?

If you scored 0 - 12: You have more of a female brain. Scientists believe that people with a female brain find it more difficult to judge the slope of a line because they're not wired for spatial tasks. In past studies, 65 per cent of people who scored in this range were women.

If you scored 13 - 17: You found this test neither hard nor easy. This suggests your brain has male and female traits when it comes to spatial ability.

If you scored 18 - 20: You have more of a male brain. On average, men outperform women in this task and those with more mathematical knowledge tend to score quite high as well. In past studies, 60 per cent of the people in this range were men.

Interestingly, men's testosterone levels fluctuate through the seasons and studies have shown that men's scores are lower in the spring, when their testosterone levels are at their lowest.

Do our cave dwelling ancestors offer us any clues about why men and women score differently on this task? Find out more.

Spot the difference
This task tested your ability to identify which objects changed position. You lost points, if you incorrectly identified objects.

Your score: 71%
Average score for men: 39%
Average score for women: 46%

What does your score suggest?

If you scored between 0 - 33%: You may have more of a male brain. Scientists say men tend to under perform in this task. The corpus callosum, the part of the brain that links the right and left hemispheres, is a fifth larger in women. This means women can process visual and other signals at the same time more easily than men. There is also a theory that oestrogen levels in women give them an added advantage in spatial memory.

If you scored between 34 - 66%: You may have a balanced female-male brain.

If you scored between 67 - 100%: Those with a female-type brain generally score in this range. Your ability to remember where objects are may serve as an advantage to you when you're trying to find your way around places. You're more capable of recalling landmarks to get from one place to another.

Part 2

You said your right thumb was on top when you clasped your hands together.

Right thumb on top: This suggests the left half of your brain is dominant. Many studies have tried to establish whether there is a relationship between handedness and brain dominance. Some scientists believe that if you are left brain dominant, you would be more verbal and analytical.

Left thumb on top: This suggests the right half of your brain is dominant. Some studies theorise that as a right brain dominant person, you may excel in visual, spatial and intuitive processes.

However, these theories are debatable and leave much to be said about the small percentage of people who are ambidextrous.

Part 3

Emotions and Systems
This task looked at whether you prefer to empathise or systemise.

Your empathy score is: 6 out of 20
Average score for men: 7.9 out of 20
Average score for women: 10.6 out of 20

What does your result suggest?

Empathisers are better at accurately judging other people's emotions and responding appropriately. If you scored 15 and above, you are very empathic and would be an ideal person to comfort people in a time of crisis. Women in general are better at empathising.

Your systemising score is: 20 out of 20
Average score for men: 12.5 out of 20
Average score for women: 8.0 out of 20

What does your result suggest?

Systemisers prefer to investigate how systems work. A system can be a road map, flat pack furniture, or a mathematical equation – anything that follows a set of rules. A score of 15 and above suggests you're good at analysing or building systems. Men in general are better at systemising.

Scientists are keen to learn more about people who score high or low on both tests. They want to find out whether or not empathising and systemising are linked. Is a possible to make yourself more empathic?

Some scientists claim that our empathy and systemising abilities can be traced all the way back to prehistoric times. Find out more.

This task tested your ability to judge people's emotions.

Your score: 6 out of 10
Average score for men: 6.6 out of 10
Average score for women: 6.6 out of 10

What does your result suggest?

If you scored 0 - 3: Do you think you're good at judging how another person is feeling? Your score suggests this doesn't come to you quite so naturally.

If you scored 4 - 6: Your result suggests you have a balanced female-male brain and find it neither easy nor difficult to judge people's emotions.

If you scored 7 - 10: Your result suggests you are a good empathiser, sensitive to other people's emotions. Women generally fall into this category.

Professor Baron-Cohen at the University of Cambridge says that people usually perform better than they expect to on this test.

Men often think a person's eyes are sending signals of desire when that's not the case at all. Find out more.

Part 4

We asked you to measure your ring and index fingers. Your ratios came to:

Right Hand: No result available. It appears you didn't complete this task.
Left Hand: No result available. It appears you didn't complete this task.

Average ratio for men: 0.982
Average ratio for women: 0.991
It's thought that your ratio is governed by the amount of testosterone you were exposed to in your mother's womb. The ratio of the length of your index finger to the length of your ring finger is set for life by as early as three months after conception. Even during puberty, when we experience intensive hormonal changes, the ratio stays the same.

Men generally have a ring finger that is longer than their index finger, which gives them a lower ratio than women, whose ring and index fingers are usually of equal length.

Studies have found that men and women with lots of brothers generally have more masculine finger ratios. Find out what other things scientists think our ratios may tell us.

Part 5

This task looked at how you rate the attractiveness of a series of faces. The images you looked at were digitally altered to create slight differences in masculinity.

Your choices suggest you prefer more masculine faces.

Highly masculinised male faces possess more extreme testosterone markers such as a long, broad and lower jaw, as well as more pronounced brow ridges and cheekbones.

Interestingly, women's preferences are said to vary across the menstrual phase. A more masculine face is preferred during the 9 days prior to ovulation, when conception is most likely.

A typical 'attractive' female face possesses features such as a shorter, narrower, lower jaw, fuller lips and larger eyes than an average face.

Are you surprised at what researchers think they can learn from your answers? Find out more.

Part 6

3D shapes
This task tested your ability to mentally rotate 3D shapes.

Your score: 10 out of 12
Average score for men: 8.2 out of 12
Average score for women: 7.1 out of 12

What does your result suggest?

If you scored 0 - 6: Do you find yourself having to physically rotate a map to point in the direction in which you're travelling? This might explain why you scored in the lower range in the 3D shapes test. Twice as many women as men score in this category. Previous studies suggest that those with a female-type brain or with an arts background fall into this range.

If you scored 7 - 9: In past studies, 50 per cent of the people who scored in this range were women and 50 per cent were men.

If you scored 10 - 12: Are you an engineer or do you have a science background? People with these skills tend to score in this range. Past studies have concluded that people in this range have a more male brain.

Nearly a third of men who took this test got full marks, whereas less than 10 per cent of women managed the same. Find out why.

This task looked at your verbal fluency.

Your score: you associated 5 word(s) with grey and you named 7 word(s) that mean happy. We are assuming that all the words you entered are correct.

Average score for men: 11.4 words total
Average score for women: 12.4 words total

What does your result suggest?

If you produced 1 - 5 words: You are more of the strong, silent type with a male brain. You probably find it easier to express yourself in non-verbal ways, preferring action rather than words.

If you produced 6 - 10 words: Most people in this range have a female-type brain.

Women are said to use both sides of the brain when doing verbal tasks while men mainly use their left side. Studies have shown that girls develop vocabulary faster than boys. This difference in brain power is caused by levels of pre-natal testosterone. Find out more .

This task asked you how you would divide money.

If you had to split £50 with someone, you said you would demand £25

So far on the Sex ID test, men have demanded 51.6% (£25.80) of the pot and women have demanded 51.0% (£25.50), on average.

What does your response suggest?

Sex differences are small in this task. Demanding less than 60% of the pot (ie £30) is more typically female. Demanding more than 65% of the pot (ie £32.50) is more typically male.

Scientists believe that people with lower testosterone levels tend to take fewer risks so they are probably more willing to keep less for themselves. Those with higher testosterone levels tend to drive a harder bargain and are less compromising.

Ohio, and it's scum life

Clearly, I live in Ohio. Clearly sometimes that downright shames me. I have a whole round up of scum life that resides in Ohio- starting with yesterdays mother that left her infant to starve for three weeks, and the father defending the cages he forces his adopted children to sleep in.

Here we go:

Last week a 2 year old boy playing in a basement had his arm caught in a MEAT GRINDER. The grinder had been plugged in and evidently didn't have the best of supervision. When the mother was questioned about the incident, she avoided answering and refused to release his medical records.

The child lost parts of three fingers in the grinder having to be flown by helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center. He is currently in good condition- despite being raised by scum.

A warrant has now been issued for his mother, who is being charged with felony child endangerment.

Police said this is not the first time inadequate supervision has resulted in
injury to children at this house. In 2001, a 1-year-old boy was struck and
killed by a car after running out of the house and into the street.

In 2002, a 4-year-old also was struck by a car outside the house.
Police said the family covered up the incident from police. In both cases,
the family engaged in the same stonewalling technique with investigators,
police said.
NewsChannel5 also learned that a registered sex offender is
living in the home.

A middle-school principal has been placed on leave as authorities investigate
two unrelated sexual encounters between students within five minutes of each
other, one apparently consensual and the second an attack.
Norris Kelly,
principal at Innes Middle School for two years, was placed on paid leave Monday,
a routine procedure in the course of an investigation, school officials said.
Retired principal Marilyn Bennett was appointed interim principal.
In one
case, a 14-year-old boy is accused of forcing a 14-year-old girl to commit a sex
act in a boys' restroom. The other case involved an apparently consensual sexual
encounter between a 14-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl in a stairwell. Both
acts happened on Oct. 4.
The boy accused of forcing the girl to commit a sex
act has been charged. Police are investigating both cases.
The alleged
attack in midmorning was reported by school officials to police that afternoon.
The other case reported to police two days later.
Fred Schuett, who
supervises middle and high schools as executive director of secondary education,
said such acts are uncommon. "This is not standard procedure at Innes," he said.
"It's not like this goes on regularly."
There are more than 27,000 students
in 57 schools in the Akron public school system.
Kelly could not be reached
for comment. No Akron phone listing for Norris Kelly could be found and school
officials said home phone numbers could not be disclosed. Messages were left
Tuesday at school board offices and at Innes.

This one is interesting- get falsely accused of rape, have the sheriff apologize and then run out and commit sexual assault. And while you're at it- do it twice. Because honestly, maybe you can convince the world that THIS time is a mistake too.

In 2003, the Lake County Sheriff's department apologized to a Madison Township
man who was mistakenly targeted as a sex offender. But now that same man who was falsely identified is being charged with sexually assaulting two juveniles, reported NewsChannel5's Joe Pagonakis.
Wayne Mansfield, 41, was arraigned Monday on rape charges. He is accused of raping a 12-year-old boy and allegedly attempted to have sex with an 11-year-old last week.
Two years ago, the Lake County Sheriff's Department sent out 320 notices about a sex offender living at Mansfield's address. The real sex offender had lied to police about where he lived. At the time, Mansfield had a clean record. When police raided Mansfield's home this weekend, they seized porn, photos and sex paraphernalia. If convicted, Mansfield will be added to the sex offender database.

And to balance it out, we have a case developing against Child Services for placing a young 15 year old in a foster home, where a game similar to Russian Roulette was played- sadly ending in the the boys death.

Lockbourne Oh

Daniel Mitchell would now be 18 if that fatal shot had not been fired.

Daniel's family gathered Monday night, like they do every year, to
remember his life.

He died on October 24, 2002 -- 36 hours after
Franklin County Children Services placed Daniel in a friend's home. That friend
shot Daniel in a game similar to Russian Roulette.

The boy’s family
has a federal lawsuit still pending in an effort to change the child placement

"No one's perfect. But he was a good kid,” Daniel’s mother,
Fran Arledge said.

Her son’s life ended at the age of 15. Something
his parents say they think about every day.

Daniel had been placed
in the care of Stephen Powers, a Lockbourne neighbor of Daniel's

A little more than a day later, Powers played a game similar
to Russian Roulette, killing Daniel.

The boy’s sister, Patience,
was there when it happened.

"He died in my arms, basically,” she

The family blames Franklin County Children Services because
it placed Daniel with Powers in the first place.

"Somebody needs to
be held accountable,” Daniel’s father, Jay Mitchell said. “They need to step up
to the plate and assume responsible for having my son killed."

doesn't get any easier. It'll never be easy,” the boy’s mother said through

Franklin County Children Services executive director John
Saros insists the agency is not broken, despite the incredibly tragic
circumstances of Daniel Mitchell’s death.

"Nobody could have
predicted the outcome that occurred,” Saros said.

Saros adds that
policy was not broken, even though Daniel's parents never approved the
outside-the-family placement, a guideline reiterated in this memo shortly after
Daniel's death.

Powers' record check in Franklin County came up
clean. But he lived in Pickaway County, where his conviction for shooting a
shotgun around a group of teens went undetected.

Caseworkers did
do a site visit at the Powers home.

"The fact Daniel had been
living there off and on and his sister had been living there gave our staff
sense he'd be safe there," Saros said.

An attorney for Daniel’s
family disagrees.

"They put him in the hands of a gun totting, drug
dealing, sociopathic executioner. They had no idea who he was," Brad Barbin

Now, Daniel's family says they are trying to save others
from the same pain.

Because of Daniels' death, Children Services
agencies across Ohio now have immediate access to criminal records

As for Stephen Powers: He killed
himself in prison last year while serving time for Daniels'

The federal trial on this case is set for

Next, we have the case of the school officials who failed a student who had been sexually assulted by trying to NOT INFORM the police. Three assistant principals where- hold on to your hats- suspended for 10 days and moved to a different district. Officials evidently filed charges against the principal- but they filed them wrong. Nice huh?

The legal case against a high school principal accused of failing to notify
police about an alleged sexual assault in the school must start over from
Officials said on Monday the misdemeanor charge against Regina
Crenshaw was filed in the wrong court. It's being transferred from Franklin
County Municipal Court to juvenile court.
Because the charge of failure to report child abuse is rarely prosecuted, City Prosecutor Steve McIntosh says he didn't immediately recognize that, under state law, it's heard by a Juvenile Court judge.
Crenshaw's attorney, Toki Clark, said it's unfair that her client had to pay for legal representation for almost five months before the problem was discovered.
The charge stems from a Mifflin High School student's accusation that she was led into the school auditorium in March and forced to perform oral sex on two boys.
Police weren't notified until the girl's father called 911.
Some teachers and administrators, including Crenshaw, said there was an unwritten rule that discouraged employees from calling police, which the district denied.
Crenshaw was fired and pleaded innocent to the charge in Municipal Court.
Three assistant principals were suspended for 10 days and reassigned to different schools in the district, the second-largest in Ohio.

Cleveland can't seem to stay out of the running for "scum in the city" so it added to the pot a mother who decided parenthood was just not for her, and so tossed her new born into a trash can. The child was found Monday afternoon. Given the fact that Ohio has a safety net for these types of people- allowing them to "discard" their unwanted babies at safe places such as hospitals- the complete lack of any motherly bone in this woman's body is repulsive.

A newborn baby boy found Monday afternoon in a Tower City trash can is making a
remarkable recovery.
The baby, now known as Baby Jack, is listed in fair
condition at MetroHealth Medical Center, an upgrade from critical condition when
he first arrived, reported ONN affiliate WEWS.
The 7-pound 14-ounce infant
has been taken off a ventilator, but remains on IV fluids and oxygen.
say Jack's mother gave birth to him in a Tower City restroom, then put him in a
plastic bag and left him in the garbage.
The newborn was discovered by a
maintenance worker after she saw the blood in the bathroom and then heard cries.
Doctors said the baby was near death when he was brought to Metro.
are now stepping up their search for the mother of the baby, and say they have
some good leads.
Police and doctors wish his mother would have been aware of
Ohio's Safe Haven law.
The law allows mothers to leave their newborns at a
hospital, police station or fire station within 72 hours of giving birth.
Baby Jack will be released to Children Services sometime next week.
Police are hoping his mother comes forward. She faces potential charges of
child endangering and abandonment.

More Amazing But True

I was rehashing all the annoying things my other half has done over the years tonight. And I thought, wow wouldn't it be nice to share the most dead brained thing he's ever done. Sounds like a great idea to me. Even though, honestly I most likely shouldn't admit it, and will likely be embarrassed to claim he's mine after I share it. The fact that I stayed with him afterwards- it just goes to prove how love can overcome anything. As long as he promises to never never do it again.

I am republican. A conservative, with basic beliefs that no matter how you feel about any war- you are bound by honor to respect those that serve. To show them gratitude for the service they willingly take up on behalf of the rest of us. I believe that you do not become a traitor to those willing to give their lives for their country, one should reserve the greatest of honors for the brave men and women who make up our military forces.

Never turn your backs on them. Never.

With that in mind- the most stupid thing my husband has ever had the nerve to do was- volunteer for the Kerry Edwards carnival when it came to town. He even brought home tickets to the damned thing. Imagine me, sitting there listening to some man whose running mate desecrated the very sacrifices of those that served our country. Needless to say- NEITHER of us attended.

So that's my bit of sharing for tonight. I shamefully end this evenings blogging. Readers should note that even after all the time that has passes since said event- I have reminded him daily that his guy lost.

Baby Nearly Starves After Being Left Alone 3 Weeks

Things like this tend to boil my blood. It's not bad enough that she threatened to kill the child, but she felt the desire to leave a helpless infant ALONE. For THREE weeks. To STARVE to death. - News - Baby Nearly Starves After Being Left Alone 3 Weeks

Oh, and it gets better- she's expecting another child- because after all she has done such a great job at being a mother.

Some people should not be allowed to reproduce.

Dad: Caging Special-Needs Kids Necessary

Everytime I have to hear/read about how these parents believed that they where right for caging their adopted children, I shrudder. In honesty, it plays out the same for most abusive parents "see what YOU made ME do??" Few parents ever realize that when they cross that line- it is because they choice to. Wait, few abuse parents. For them, it is easier to blame the kids- after all THEIR behavior caused the abuse. If the kid could have just "stopped crying" or stopped this or that- the parent would not have had to lock them in a closet, beat them with a 2x4 etc.

Even worse is when the "father" who locked these kids in cages defends the money they recieved - over $4000 a month- by telling us that "you couldn't pay enough to do the things they did". Because in reality- you couldn't pay any decent parent enough to lock their kids up, make them live in a filthy home with a lingering smell of urine and feces.

It offends me that Sharen and Michael Gravelle have yet to be charged. The only thing that makes their crime even more horrific is that the children they should have been loving and nuturing where disablied, and needed even more care than the normal child. They had a even larger resonsiblity to these children. And they not only failed- they abused them.

Even given the benefit of the doubt- it is still rather difficult to accept that knowing they where evidently unable to maintain a clean enviroment, and healthy living conditions for a few children- they continued to pile more and more into their home. But I guess the four thousand bucks a month helped make that choice.

"...If you can call these cages, take me to jail right now," Michael
Gravelle said. "Right now."

The couple pointed out holes where they said
the children had kicked in the walls and gouges in the drywall from their
fingernails. Baseboards were soaked with urine stains, and the walls still show
marks where the children had smeared their feces.

"We live with this
smell," said Sharen Gravelle, who at times broke down in tears. "We love these

Prosecutor Russ Leffler alleges that the Gravelles were
adopting the children for financial gain. Records show they received $4,265
monthly in adoption subsidies and disability payments when they had eight
children in 2001.

"You could not pay me enough to do the things we had
to do," Michael Gravelle said. "There is nothing easy about raising these
children. We did not abuse them. That's the truth."

The couple's lawer,
David Sherman, was not aware of Sunday's tour, the newspaper said

Today I had the overwhelming joy of hitting 9000 visitors to my lil blog here. In a little under 6 months I've managed to conspire to enlighten that many people. Wow. With just over 20,500 page views- I'm feeling sort of giddy.

I know- I don't really relay a vision of a giddy woman dancing around singing "Puff the Magic Dragon"- because mostly those that read this get only a view of my serious "what's wrong with the world" side of my personality. Despite that- I REALLY AM GIDDY!

Thank you to all those that visit, a big thank you to those that come back after the first time. And a huge thank you to all the bloggers who have been nice enough to link here, I've made a list. And you bloggers will be remembered in my will. (Although there isn't much to hand out).

When I started this I wasn't sure where it was going to take me. I was sort of aware that it was going to be a good excuse as to why my dishes aren't washed- but other than that- I had no idea. I thought it would be a humorous little release, something for me to use to complain about all the goofball things I deal with daily. And then, somehow it took off and became what it is now. Which must be a good thing- because some people manage to find their way back here.

And all I can say is thanks, and that if you feel the needs you may leave suggestions for me below- as comments. I read them. Sometimes I respond to them- but mostly I save that space for you.

NCMEC- Sex Offender Friendly

This is down right beyond unacceptable and poor judgement. It's child endangerment and it's being done by the CEO of a group that is suppose to be about protecting our children.

KENSINGTON, Md., Oct. 24 /U.S. Newswire/ -- In a stunning turn of events,
the head of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) was
quoted last week taking the side of a convicted rapist in a child custody battle
playing out in state and federal courts in Pennsylvania. Ernie Allen, president
and CEO of NCMEC, appeared on ABC News and said this about keeping a convicted
rapist of teenagers away from his own child: "
If we create an environment in
which someone convicted of a sexual offense effectively cannot live in society
in a normal way, what we're doing is forcing them out. We may even be increasing
the likelihood of their re-offense."

Michael Paranzino, president of the
anti-crime group Throw Away The Key, reacted with shock and outrage to Allen's
remarks. "We've all said boneheaded things we regret, but this is not just
silly, it is dangerous," Paranzino said. "If Ernie Allen were right, then
Megan's Law would have to go, child molester buffer zones around schools and
playgrounds would have to go, GPS tracking of sex offenders would have to go,
and lifetime probation for sex offenders would have to go. Fortunately, in this
case, Ernie Allen is dead wrong."
The case that led to Allen's unfortunate
remarks concerns convicted rapist DaiShin WolfHawk, 53, who was known as John
Joseph Lentini when he pleaded guilty to rape, attempted rape, sodomy and
attempted sodomy of two teen-agers in the 1980s. In addition, according to the
Associated Press, New York state parole records indicate he sodomized his own
daughter, a charge WolfHawk denies. His wife recently had a baby, and Schuylkill
County Children and Youth Services in Pennsylvania has taken custody of the
baby. The ACLU is representing the mother of the baby, who currently does not
have custody of her other two children either.
"There is no evidence that
treating rapists and child molesters with the tough measures they deserve in any
way leads to their astronomical reoffense rates," Paranzino added. "In fact, it
is because their reoffense rates are so high that tough measures need to be

received more than $30 million in taxpayer funds last year. Video and text of

It bothers me that the head of a group with whom we entrust to be proactive in supporting and protecting our children can take a stand that would allow for a sex offender to raise his next generation of victims. Their is no excuse, and what Ernie Allen fails to understand is that this man being around any child increases his risk of offending again. The majority of sexual abuse cases are perpetrated by a family member or friend. Someone that the victims knows.

In truth allowing this man to be permitted to raise this child does the most to increase the chances that the child will be sexually abused.

95% know their perpetrators, and yet this man, head of a organization that's sole reason for existing is to help children- believes that sex offenders pose no risks when raising children?

I believe that even if the risk would be very small- isn't it better to protect the child than to take the chance? This is a man, convicted of a horrid sexual offense- who's rights are more important, his or the child?

As for Ernie- I am hoping that the political powers that be take notice, I doubt the media will pay much attention to it- but someone out there should.

Sex Offender Rights

Of course I believe they have rights- like the right to rot in hell. But do they have the right to live next door to a preschool?

Here's the deal, our helpful friends over at the Iowa Civil Liberties Union has asked the US Supreme Court to overturn a 2002 Iowa law forbidding sex offenders from living within 2,000 feet of schools and day care centers. Because after all, the rest of society should feel perfectly fine about the sex offenders scoping out victims from the safety of their bedroom windows. Why should they be expected to drive across town, possibly being noticed as a creepy lurking pervert and have their plans spoiled? I know- heartbreaking isn't it? (See link for THAT story)

It's not bad enough that a anti American group formed to cause chaos and havoc with our freedoms while insisting that we bow to the ideas of lunatics has decided to take this cause on, and has high hopes of restoring "haunting grounds" to these perverts- now joining the circus is an actual sex offender. Surprise surprise.

So this sicko, Dave Spencer, 52, of Elkhart Iowa- has decided to lobby lawmakers, explaining in his own disgusting words the effects these laws have on sex offenders. Because really- that's who we should be concerned about. How dare we confuse ourselves enough to think that the safety of children is more important. Now let's all take a moment to thank the Iowa ACLU for making this possible.

"We're trying to introduce some balance here," Spencer said. "We're trying to
help the legislators understand that we're not all stupid out here. We do have
input on this thing that makes sense, and that they need to be looking at

Spencer is with a small lobbying group representing sex
offenders. He will be in Des Moines on Wednesday to speak to a legislative task
force which is meeting to discuss sex crimes and their penalties.Spencer is part
of a group called RARE PEARL -- Requiring Advances and Rehabilitating Errants
and Promoting Education and Activism to Reform Legislation. He said their intent
isn't to protest. Rather, it's to address the legislative committee and ask that
the members revisit this year's laws that place harsher penalties on sex
offenders and a 2002 law that bans child molesters from living within 2,000 feet
of schools and day care centers.Spencer said the 2,000-foot law and the
electronic monitoring is "absolutely meaningless when it comes to preventing the
crimes or protecting anybody, or repairing any harm done to victims."

I'm really feeling his pain here. And really who better to help make the laws on sex offenders, than a sex offender. Because they, after all would have no alternative motive in this, right? What I find most interesting is the last comment- because the law isn't made to repair harm done to victims. In honesty it gives little attention to the mental condition of the victims. It's about preventing victims. The time served for the crime was for the actions, the rest is meant to prevent the actions. To keep them from moving in next door to a school, watching the kids playing and waiting for that one day, that one perfect chance where a parent is five minutes late picking up their kid, or that one little boy wonders off away from his class.

I'm sorry but this is too much like asking a gang banger to help write laws against gang bangers- they have too big an interest in what benefits them, rather than what would promote the safety of others. No one should be able to pick and choose their sentence- that's what we have juries and judges for.

The last lines of the news story read this way:

"Nobody's trying to say there shouldn't be some consequences for this," he said. "But the consequence should first of all fit the crime and should also
be something that is really going to make some difference. Not just to
punish somebody, but in order to make a better, safer society."

Just those words- I agree with. Most likely not in the way he meant them. But I'll read them as I want. In order to make a better, safer society- we do have to make sure that the punishment fits the crime. Which is why I am so supportive of life sentencing. Because the deviant unacceptable acts of sexual assault that these monsters commit on the innocent has a lasting life long effect. Sex offenders make a choice to commit these heinous crimes- with no interest in the effects that it will have upon their victims. It is not a matter of if they will do it again- it's a matter of when, and whether they will be caught the next time around.

American Youth Soccer Organization Chooses APSCREEN To Provide National Sex Offender Searches
The American Youth Soccer Organization has chosen APSCREEN, the world’s leading full-service Consumer Reporting Agency, to provide searches for national sex offenders to be included into AYSO’s background screening process.
Rancho Santa Margarita, California (PRWEB) October 24, 2005 -- The American Youth Soccer Organization has chosen APSCREEN, the world’s leading full-service Consumer Reporting Agency, to provide searches for national sex offenders to be included into AYSO’s background screening process. The AYSO, an affiliate member of the US Soccer Federation, now joins numerous organizations using this free service including the Girls Scouts of America.Ellisa Hall, National Administrator for AYSO, “We are grateful for access to APSCREEN’s national sex offender registry. For the last 40 years, the AYSO has provided a safe, fair, fun sport experience for hundreds of thousands of youngsters all across the U.S. We take seriously the charge to protect players, volunteers and family members, and this valuable information provides one more critical layer to our Safe Haven Program.”There is no registration or fee for the service and anyone who has a computer and access to the Internet and a web browser can use it. Should a person have any reason to suspect that someone in their neighborhood, school district or community might have a sex crime history they can go directly to and enter the name of the subject and have a good chance of locating information about a sex offender's history. Currently the database covers 34 states and 12 local areas for a total of 46 jurisdictions. Most of the time, the sex crime records contain enough personal information to verify the identity of a suspect, or provide a lead to pursue further research.Tom Lawson, CFE, CII & Founder of APSCREEN, comments, "We practically invented background checks over 25 years ago when few companies understood the need to screen prospective applicants. Now we want to give this free service back to the community because we feel so strongly about the protection and safety of our children. We mean it to be used in conjunction with other tools including other sites such as the FBI’s national sex offender registry and the Megan’s Law website provided by the California Attorney General’s office.”APSCREEN (, founded in 1980 is the originator of the modern-day factual employment-screening concept. Other services include tenant screening, employee locates, asset discovery, permissible credit reporting, motor vehicle records, and fraud examination. Tom Lawson is a certified fraud examiner, certified international investigator, expert witness and holds key positions in several national trade associations.
